Abstract

An antiperspirant pad comprises an adhesive layer (4) for attaching the pad to clothing, a moisture resistant layer (5) for preventing moisture from reaching clothing, a layer of material (7) to absorb moisture and a protective layer (2) on top to retain moisture. The adhesive layer (4) may have a removable protective film (8). The pad may be scented, and contain antiperspirant deodorant or other skin friendly products. It may have a larger centre portion and two smaller portions for attachment to clothing.

Description

ANTIPERSPIRANT The invention relates to an antiperspirant of the type which protects clothing from visible underarm perspiration. (Referred to as a'pad') Antiperspirants are well-known, but often present the disadvantage of not protecting the clothing from visible underarm perspiration, which can then stain the clothing.
The object of this invention is to prevent underarm perspiration from reaching articles of clothing.
Accordingly, this invention provides a pad, which protects clothing from underarm moisture.
Preferably the pads will be a standard size that are attached to the clothing, but they may be produced in varied sizes and shapes. They may be in the form of pads that can be cut to a desired shape. The pads may contain additional scents, deodorants, or skin friendly products.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 Shows an aerial view of a standard size pad.
Figure 2 Is the cross section of the pad, illustrating the materials.
Figure 3 A pad which can be cut to desired size.
Figure 4 A varied shape and design.
Figure 5 Illustrates a the positioning of a pad, once inserted into underarm area.
Figure 6 Demonstrates a pad; attached to clothing.
Figure 7 Shows how the pad is rolled; for easy disposal.
Referring to the drawing the pads comprise of an adhesive layer 4 that is protected by a protective film 8. The adhesive is on one side of the moisture resistant layer 5. On top of the moisture resistant layer is a layer of absorbent material 7. This is then covered by a protective layer 2. The pads are used in pairs and are disposable after daily use.
In order to use the pad remove the protective film 8 and attach to clothing as shown in Fig 6.
Position the pad directly beneath the underarm area, where the moisture forms as shown in Fig 7.
Press the pad against the cloth to ensure the pad is firmly attached. To remove pull the pad away from the cloth and roll as illustrated in Fig 5 for easy disposal.
The standard sized pad 1 is suitable for most articles of clothing. The pad with a larger centre portion and two smaller portions for attachment to clothing 3 is better suited to loose fitting clothing, for example shirts. Whereas the pad that can be cut into a desired shape 6, is available for individuals to create their own preferred design.
