Abstract
A generally oblong-shaped piston 3 has flat sides and a circular portion into which a splined 26 swivel pin 9 is located by grub screws 28, enabling rotary oscillation of the piston 3 within a part-circular combustion chamber. The combustion chamber has an exhaust port 2 for combustion exhaust gasses, and an inlet valve 7 for an air and petrol mixture which is compressed by the piston 3 and transferred through transfer port 31 and transfer duct 30 to the combustion side of the piston 3 in which a spark plug 8 is located. The piston 3 has grooves for location of compression slats or rings 24. The combustion chamber is bolted onto an oil-filled crank case (21, Figs 1C and 2C), and has a removable base 11 to allow access to the piston 3.
Description
TITLE. A SEMI-CIRCULAR COMBUSTIONED TWO STROKE ENGINE. (ASCCTSE)
This engine which has two stroke characteristics does not work like other two stroke engines. This engine draws air/petrol mixture into an independant cyclinder rather than like other two-strokes into a crank-case.
The chamber itself is basically independant to the crank-case except for being linked to connecting rods and levers to the crank wheels. According to the present invention a two stroke engine explodes on every one revolution of the engine.
A specific example of the invention of this particular engine will now be descibed by way of references to the accempanying figures relating to the drawings.
The combustion chamber 1 has exhaust/s ports 2 on one side of the chamber. An inlet valve 7 is positioned at the most convenient side of chamber to fit carberetta mounting pins 10.
The base of the combustion chamber 11 or piston cap can be removed from combustion chamber 1 by way of bolts 12 to allow removal of piston 3 from chamber,
FIGURE 1A/7 shows internal view of combustion chamber with piston on compression stroke 5. Also shown are the exhaust and transfer ports, with transfer duct outlined.
FIGURE 1B/7 shows external view of base or piston cap parted from main combustion chamber, with view of inlet port and mounting pins.
FIGURE 1C/7 shows combustion chamber attached to crank case.
Also shown in figure 1C/7 is a cutaway view of crankcase showing internals, which includes swivel pin, swivel pin levers, little and big ends and connecting rod. Also shown are geared crank wheel and output drive wheel.
FIGURE 2A,/7 shows internal view of combustion chamber with piston on compression stroke 5, and also shows inlet port.
FIGURE 2B/7 shows combustion chamber as seen from external view, with piston cap bolted to main chamber. Also shewn in drawing are exhaust port and transfer duct, with view of piston, transfer and inlet ports outlined.
FIGURE 2C/7 shows semi circular combustion chamber bolted to crank case. Also shown in 2C/7 is a view of crank case as seen internally showing swivel pin, swivel pin lever, big and little ends and connecting rod attached to crank wheel and output shaft.
FIGURE 3/7 shows oblong shaped piston with compression slats visible (24). Also shown are retaining grub screws which locate through centre of piston into locating holes as shown on swivel pin. Also shown on swivel pin are splined portions, the centre portions fits into base of piston with the outer splines tapered to fit lever bars. Also on swivel pin are positions for bearings at each side of piston.

Claims (12)
1. This particular two stroke engine has a piston that has flat sides and oblong in shape, which fits into a semi circular combustion chamber.
2. As in claim 1 the piston has flat sides with groves for compression slats, which are sprung loaded.
3. As in claim 1 and 2 the piston is flat sided and has a circular base which rotates in a portion of a semi circular combustion chamber.
4. As in claim 3 the engine has a semi circular combustion chamber where the bottom circular portion (cap) can be removed to fit pis, ton into chamber.
5. A two stroke of this design has exhaust valve/s on one portion of the combustion chamber which is situated at approximately two thirds distance of drive stroke. It has one inlet valve which is situated below the exhaust valve on downward drive stroke.
6. The engine has one spark plug situated at the end of the combustion stroke.
7. The combustion chamber which is semi circular, as in claim 4 bolts onto a crank case that is oil filled.
8. This particular two stroke has a swivel pin that fits into the piston, it also has a bearing on either side of the piston which then fit into the circular cap of the combustion chamber.
9. As in claim 8 the swivel pin which has serated portions at both ends allows lever bars to be fitted. These bars are then attached to connecting rods and eventually to crank pins and crank wheels.
10. A semi circular combustion chambered two stroke has two' crank wheels as in claim 9, one of which has a gear wheel that drives final output shaft.
11. A semi circular two stroke has an oil pump on the outer portion of the crank case to lubricate external moving parts such as mechanical exhaust valves etc.
12. A semi circular combustion chambered two stroke has gaskets situated at both top and bottom of combustion chamber which are removable to aline piston, which is entered from the base of combustion chamber.
