Abstract
A water heater comprises a microwave generator for heating water flowing through a heat exchanger 6. Time and temperature controls, including a seven day programmable clock 2, are provided to regulate the heating process.
Description
Microwave Energy indirect central heating and hot water boiler
This invention relates to a Microwave energy indirect central heating and hot water boiler
Central heating and hot water boilers are used in domestic and commercial applications to provide the nessecary hot water needed to enable an indirect heating and hot water system to function. This is achieved by passing water through a heat exchanger which is heated by an available fuel
To heat, and maitain at a constant temperature, water by using electricity as a fuel is an expensive process requiring high wattage elements.
The present invention comprises of a rectangular enclosure which can be wall mounted or free standing. To the right hand side of the enclosure is provided a small removable cover behind which the input electrical power is connected after passing through a cable entry provided at the bottom of the enclosure.
To the left hand side of the enclosure are two protruding pipes one for the water inlet and one for the water outlet.
To the right hand side of the front of the enclosure are the controls which comprise of a seven day programmable time clock and a digital display to show the current mode of operation.
At the back of the enclosure are four keyhole slots for possible wall mounting.
Located at the bottom of the enclosure are four adjustable feet.
There is a removable panel at the front of the enclosure which provides access to the
Microwave heat exchanger.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :
Fig I shows in perspective the Microwave energy central heating and hot water boiler.
Fig 2 shows the birds eye view of the microwave energy boiler.
Fig 3 shows the front view of the boiler with front cover removed exposing the heat
exchanger.
Fig 4 shows a view of the right hand side of the boiler.
Fig 5 shows a view of the left hand side of the boiler.
Refering to the drawing the Microwave energy boiler comprises of a rectangular enclosure (8) inside which is housed a heat exchanger (6).
The flow and return pipes of a central heating/hotwater system are connected to pipe (3) and pipe (4) of the boiler.
An Electrical supply connection is made to the terminals located behind removable cover (7), terminals are also located in this position for remote pumps, thermostats and valves.
The control of the boiler is made by programming timeclock (2) and display (1) will give the current status of the boiler.
As water passes through the boiler heat exchanger it is heated by microwave energy to a determined temperature before exiting the boiler and passing back into the main heating system, the temperature of the water inside the heat exchanger is determined by an adjustable temperature regulator.
The removable panel (5) located at the front of the boiler is for maintainance and servicing purposes.
Claims (5)
- Claims 1 A domestic/commercial water boiler comprising of a rectangular enclosure housing a heat exchanger, electromagnetic wave generator and time controls.
- 2 A domestic/commercial water boiler as claimed in claim I wherin electromagnetic wave energy is used to heat water as it passes through the boiler.
- 3 A domestic/commercial boiler as claimed in claim I or claim 2, wherein a temperature control is provide to regulate and control the internal water temperature of the boiler.
- 4 A domestic/commercial boiler as claimed in claim 2 or claim 3, wherein pipes are provided for connection to an installation.
- 5 A domestic/commercial boiler as claimed in any proceeding claims wherein a time control is provided for operation of the boiler.
