Abstract

A heating and hot water boiler powered by electrical microwave energy (see figure 1). Comprising an outer shell 1 and an inner shell 8, between which is contained insulation 2, and the magnetrons 3. Within this box is mounted a water container 9, with connections to radiators through pipes 6 and hot water storage through pipes 5. The magnetrons are operated by means of an electronic controller 10, and the water temperature controlled by means of thermostats 11 and 13. The water is pumped 7 through the system and a descaling device is attached 12. Electrical supply is made at 14 and water is supplied through 4.

Description

MICROWAVE POWERED HEATING & HOT WATER BOILER This invention relates to a heating and hot water boiler powered by microwave energy.
Heating and hot water boilers are well known appliances and comprise a water filled container which is heated by means of either gas, oil or solid fuel. The hot water is distributed by means of a pipe and radiator system, through which the heated water is driven by a pump.
The use of conventional electrical heating elements in such wet systems, is not economical and therefore dwellings with only an electrical supply are reliant on alternative, more expensive or inconvenient systems such as night storage heating in conjunction with immersion heating for hot water.
According to the present invention there is provided a heating and hot water boiler powered by electrical microwave energy, comprising an insulated water container, single or multiple magnetron(s), descaling device, pump, electronic and thermostatic controls; with suitable outlet and inlet connections to radiators, hot water storage facility and supplies of water and electricity.
A specific embodiment of the invention is shown in the attached drawing at figure 1.
Referring to the drawing, the boiler comprises an outer shell 1 and an inner shell 8, between which is contained insulation 2, and the magnetrons 3. Within this box is mounted a water container 9, with connections to radiators through pipes 6 and hot water storage through pipes 5. The magnetrons are operated by means of an electronic controller 10, and the water temperature controlled by means of thermostats 11 and 13. The water is pumped 7 through the system and a descaling device is attached 12.
Electrical supply is made at 14 and water is supplied through 4.

Claims (3)

1. A heating and water heating appliance powered by electrical microwave energy.
2. A heating and hot water boiler powered by electrical microwave energy , comprising an insulated water container, single or multiple magnetron's, descaling device, pump, electronic and thermostatic controls; with suitable outlet and inlet connections to radiators, hot water storage and supplies of water and electric.
3. A heating and hot water boiler substantially as described herein with reference to figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
