Abstract
234,225. West, C. E. Dec. 17, 1924. Plants, supporting. - A pointed stake a of semi-circular, V, or other channel section is bent on itself at its upper end to form a loop c, for the reception of a bending member d consisting of a length of steel hooping. Both ends of the band d are passed into the loop c, one end f being bent as shown in Fig. 4 to form a friction grip. Two stakes of different lengths may be riveted together as shown in Fig. 6, the tower end of one being cranked. Several stakes may be employed to support one long banding member d. Fig. 7 shows a pea or bean support comprising stakes a of different heights and bands d passed through the loops c and round some of the stakes, the ends being nailed to pegs driven into the soil.
