Abstract
A kidney-shaped toilet/urinal is mounted on a pedestal and is structured to slope forwards to assist with a comfortable posture.
Description
2340849 TOILETWRINAL The invention relates to the topic of toilet hygiene
and comfort - a design to compliment both requirements. 1 Ladies in general do not sit on public toilets due to personal hygiene factors, and find themselves forced to balance uncomfortably over the conventional toilet.
An object of this invention is to offer the option of a non-touch toilet facility, which is comfortable to use, assists in personal hygiene with the objective in mind to overcome female discomfort while using conventional public toilet facilities, whilst also enabling gentlemen to use the same facility as either a toilet or urinal.
Accordingly, this invention provides a surface mounted toilet, with a forward sloping kidney shaped seat which is positioned on a pedestal at a comfortable height for the user, enabling the legs to straddle the seat, whilst offering a hygienic facility with the main option of no skin contact, and comfortable to use. The two grab handles on either side of the pedestal assist the user to: maintain the non-touch position, for convenience and to assist the eldedy and people with disabilities.
In facilities such as Conference Halls, Exhibition Centres etc, where often there is an overflow of the one gender, toilet facilities which accommodate Toilet/Urinal may "Switch' to using both male and female facilities to accommodate the majority gender in question.
According to the present invention, Toilet/Urinal would be made of porcelain, polyester resin by means of a mould, or stainless steel, the latter to assist with vandal resistance in areas where vandalism is a problem. The grab handles, would preferably be of the same material as the pedestal toilet eg: Stainless Steel grab handles complimenting the stainless steel toilet or moulded grab handles for a moulded toilet.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
I" FIGURE 1 shows a front and side view of the whole Toilet/Urinal FIGURE 2 shows a side view of the whole Toilet/Urinal in a non-touch position.
FIGURE 3 shows a side view of the whole Toilet/Urinal in a louch' position.
FIGURE 4 shows a view of the sloping kidney shaped toilet seat.
FIGURE 5 shows a view of the internal working of Toilet/Urinal.
