Seats; repairs, facilitating.-A removable screwedin valve seating b is provided with a central aperture a portion a of which is of polygonal crosssection, such as hexagonal or square, to receive a bar of similar shape for screwing the seat into position or removing the same. The remaining portion c of the seat aperture is cylindrical and of larger area so that liability of damage to the seating surface by the aforesaid bar is reduced to a minimum.
