Abstract
The present invention relates to a disposable numnah (1) suitable for use with an equine animal such as, for example, a horse. The numnah (1) comprises a first bottom sheet (2) of a very highly moisture permeable tear resistant material disposable on the back of a horse in use of the numnah (1). A second upper sheet (4) of a non absorbent hydrophobic fibre material formed into a light weight highly moisture permeable tear resistant structure forms an outer face of the numnah for supporting, directly or indirectly, a saddle. The top (4) and bottom (2) sheets captively enclose a highly moisture absorbent sheet form body of wadding (6). In use, on for example a horse, sweat produced by the horse passes through the first or bottom (2) permeable sheet and is absorbed by the wadding (6). In use on the horse heat generated by the horse causes the moisture absorbed by the wadding (6) to evaporate through the second upper permeable sheet (4).
