Abstract

A fastening device to connect pairs of socks together, e.g. during washing, is integral with the socks themselves. The device may take the form of a button on one sock and eyelet on the other, Velcro (RTM) fastening, press studs or a cooperating hook and ring.

Background
There are billions of pairs of gentlemen's, ladies and children's socks sold each year. Probably 50% of these are in basic colours. Most people own several pairs of socks that are in a basic colour such as brown, green, red, blue etc. When the socks are washed together it is often difficult and time consuming to sort similar colour socks into the correct pairs. There are already a number of inventions that act as clips so people can clip the socks together before washing and thus overcome the above problem. Unfortunately this means buying a special clip for this purpose and remembering to put the clip on before washing.
The "sock-joine' is an invention that prevents the need for people to buy an independent clip and allows the socks to be attached together via a small device that is integral to the sock.
Description
The sock joiner can take a number of different forms as indicated in the drawings. It could involve a button on one sock and an eyelet in the other to allow the socks to be attached together. It could involve a fastener where one sock is attached to the other using a press stud. It could involve velcro where a male piece is attached to one sock and a female piece is attached the other sock or any device that is integral to the sock and can be used to attach the socks together. Such devices are shown in figure 1.
