Abstract
The device is a tag which is attached permanently to the zip fastener on a garment. When the zip fastener is closed, the device is attached to a button or stud or other part of the garment at the top of the zip. The device prevents the zip fastener from opening accidentally. <IMAGE>
Description
ZIP CLOSURE
This invention holds zip fasteners closed.
Zip fasteners in garments sometimes open without the wearer being aware of it, causing embarrassment or nuisance. This zip closure comprises a connection made of any fabric or material including leather, denim or plastic, between the zipper and a stud or button or any other part of the garment at the top of the zip. The zip closure can be opened when the zip is opened and closed when the zip is closed and prevents the zipper from slipping open.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows the zip closure open and attached to the zipper on a pair ofjeans;
Figure 2 shows the zip closure closed on the button at the waistband; and
Figure 3 shows the zip closure closed and the button on the waistband also closed, thus concealing the zip closure.
Referring to the drawing, the zip closure comprises a tab with a buttonhole in the middle which attaches to the zipper by means of a ring. When the zip is closed, the zip closure is attached to the button at the waistband (Fig. 2), ensuring that the zip cannot open by accident. The button at the waistband is then closed over the zip closure (Fig. 3), hiding it.
To open the gripzip, the steps described above are carried out in the reverse sequence.
Claims (3)
1. A zip closure comprising a connection made of any fabric or material including
leather, denim or plastic, between the zipper and a stud or button or any other part ofthe garment at the top ofthe zip.
2. A zip closure wherein the zipper is held closed by connecting the zipper directly or
indirectly to the garment.
3. A zip closure where a tab is attached to the zipper and to another part of the
garment.
