Abstract

A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder has an oblong body of two halves hinged at one end which can accommodate a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste. Plungers 5 on two sides of the holder are pressed to dispense toothpaste from the tube without removal from the holder. A lid over the open holder and may be used as a mouthrinse cup.

Description

2336995 PERSONAL TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE HOLDER This invention relates
to a personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder.
A toothbrush and tube of toothpaste are essential items of personal hygiene. When left unprotected or uncovered they can be susceptible to germs and when taken away from the usual bathroom environment they need to be adequately stored and protected from damage. There is a need to provide a practical and convenient method of storing toothbrushes and toothpaste for easy availability.
According to the present invention there is provided a strong oblong holder or container comprising two halves hinged at one end, plungers on two opposite sides of the holder, compartments inside the holder for a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste, access holes at one end of the holder to expose the cap of the toothpaste tube and the head of the toothbrush, retaining collars at each end of the holder and a detachable mouthrinse cup which also acts to cover the tube cap and toothbrush head.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which..
Figure 1 shows the perspective of the holder with the mouthrinse cup removed; Figure 2 shows the holder opened to reveal the toothbrush and toothpaste compartments.
Referring to Figure 1 the holder comprises two halves 1 hinged at one end (not shown)- To open the holder the mouthrinse cup 2 is removed by gently pressing opposing sides 10 and lifting clear followed by removal of the upper collar 3 and lower collar 4 as shown in Figure 1.
The toothpaste tube is inserted into the compartment 11 and the toothbrush into compartment 9. The two halves 1 are then closed and held together by attaching the lower collar 4 and the upper collar 3 followed by the mouthrinse cup 2.

Claims (4)

  1. A strong oblong holder or container comprising two halves hinged at one end, plungers on two opposite sides of the holder, compartments inside the holder for a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste, access holes at one end to expose the cap of the toothpaste tube and the head of the toothbrush, retaining collars at each end of the holder and a detachable mouthrinse cup which also acts to cover the tube cap and toothbrush head.
  2. 2 A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 1 wherein collars provided to secure the two halves of the holder.
  3. 3 A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein the removable lid is used as a mouthrinse cup.
  4. 4. A personal toothbrush and toolhpaste holder substantially as described h%-rein 1Ath reference to figures 1-2 of the accompanying draxving.
    4 A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3 wherein the top of the holder has apertures for the toothpaste tube cap and toothbrush head.
    A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 3 or Claim 4 wherein the plungers provide a means of dispensing the toothpaste without removal of the tube from the holder.
    6 A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 5 wherein the toothpaste tube compartment is tapered from top to bottom to accommodate the original shape of the toothpaste tube.
    7 A personal toothbrush and toothpaste holder as claimed in Claim 6 wherein the plate attached to the inside face of each plunger is hinged at the bottom to ensure that all toothpaste is dispensed from the toothpaste tube.
