A method and a mobile apparatus for remote clearance or deactivation of mines (28) or other unexploded ordnance by the applicator of focused microwave radiation. The apparatus comprises a mobile carrier (24) carrying a power generator (18), a microwave emitter (20 and focusing means (22).
