Abstract
Substances such as sodium sulphide, sodium bisulphate and caustic alkalies are obtained in small pieces by allowing them to fall in molten condition in drops on to surfaces maintained below the melting point of the substance. Temperatures and height of fall may be varied to obtain different forms. The surface may be of metal, ebonite, celluloid and the like, and may be treated with vaseline to prevent adhesion. Periodically moved plates, an endless band, or rollers may be employed as the surface. Specification 1054/79 is referred to.ALSO:Substances such as sodium sulphide, sodium bisulphate and caustic alkalies are obtained in small pieces by allowing them to fall in molten condition in drops on to surfaces maintained below the melting point of the substance.
