Abstract

A supporting bar for a golf trolley includes a straight post (11) made of a glass fiber having a first end portion and a second end portion, and a curved post (12) having a first end portion fixedly connected with the second end portion of the straight post (11) and a second end portion. The straight post (11) may fit into the curved post (12), or vice-versa, or the curved post (12) may have an annular slot for receiving the tubular end of the straight post (11). The curved post (12) may be made of nylon fibre or aluminium or stainless steel.

Description

SUPPORTING BAR STRUCTURE FOR A GOLF TROLLEY The present invention relates to a supporting bar structure for a golf trolley.
A conventional golf trolley is shown in Fig. 5 and comprises a supporting bar 80 including a lower curved portion 84 connected with a bracket 83, a retaining base 85 fixedly mounted on a mediate portion of the supporting bar 80, and two connecting frames 81 (only one connecting frame 81 is shown) each including a first end portion pivotally connected with the retaining base 85 and a second end portion pivotally connected with a wheel 82.
By such an arrangement, however, the supporting bar 80 usually made of aluminum tends to be oxidized due to being exposed to surroundings frequently such that the appearance of the outer surface of the supporting bar 80 easily fade during long-term utilization, thereby greatly decreasing the aesthetic quality of the golf trolley.
In addition, the supporting bar 80 made of aluminum easily incurs a deformation during long-term utilization, thereby effecting the entire structure of the golf trolley.
The supporting bar 80 can also be made of glass fiber which is not easily deformed and can be adapted to enhance the aesthetic quality of the supporting bar 80.
By such an arrangement, however, it is necessary to prepare a special molding equipment for manufacturing the curved portion 84 of the supporting bar 80 when it is made of fiber glass, thereby greatly increasing the cost of fabrication.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantage of the conventional supporting bar.
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a supporting bar structure for a golf trolley comprising an upright post made of a glass fiber and including a first end portion and a second end portion, and a curved post including a first end portion fixedly connected with the second end portion of the upright post and a second end portion.
Further features of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a supporting bar structure for a golf trolley according to a first embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a partially side cross-sectional view of the supporting bar structure shown in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a partially side cross-sectional view of a supporting bar structure according to a second embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a partially side cross-sectional view of a supporting bar structure according to a third embodiment of the present invention; and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional golf trolley in accordance with the prior art.
Referring to the remaining drawings, and initially to Figs. 1 and 2, a golf trolley in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a supporting bar structure 10 comprising an upright post 11 including a first end portion and a second end portion, and a curved post 12 including a first end portion fixedly connected with the second end portion of the upright post 11 and a second end portion connected with a bracket 30, a retaining base 40 fixedly mounted on the upright post 11, and two connecting frames 20 (only one connecting frame 20 is shown) each including a first end portion pivotally connected with the retaining base 40 and a second end portion pivotally connected with a wheel 50.
The upright post 11 can be made of a glass fiber, and the curved post 12 can be made of a nylon fiber, aluminum, stainless steel.
The first end portion of the curved post 12 is formed with a female sleeve 120, and the second end portion of the upright post 11 is formed with a male plug 110 securely fitted in the female sleeve 120.
Two rivets 13 each in turn extend through the female sleeve 120 of the curved post 12 and the male plug 110 of the upright post 11, thereby securely coupling the upright post 11 with the curved post 12.
Referring now to Fig. 3, in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention, the second end portion of the upright post 11 is formed with a female sleeve 111, and the first end portion of the curved post 12 is formed with a male plug 121 securely fitted in the female sleeve 111.
Two rivets 130 each in turn extend through the female sleeve 111 of the upright post 11 and the male plug 121 of the curved post 12, thereby securely coupling the upright post 11 with the curved post 12.
Referring now to Fig. 4, in accordance with a third embodiment of the present invention, the first end portion of the curved post 12 is formed with a female sleeve 122 defining an annular groove 123 therein, and the second end portion of the upright post 11 is formed with a male plug 112 securely fitted in the annular groove 123 of the female sleeve 122.
Two rivets 133 each in turn extend through the female sleeve 122 of the curved post 12 and the male plug 112 of the upright post 11, thereby securely coupling the upright post 11 with the curved post 12.
It should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
