Abstract

A holder (1) for a mobile telephone (2) has a pocket for receiving the telephone and is provided with a sleeve (3) for receiving a writing implement (4). The holder may be provided with a pad of writing material (5). The sleeve may be made of resilient or elastic material.

Description

MOBILE TELEPHONE HOLDER The present invention relates to a holder for a mobile telephone.

The use of cellular mobile telephones has increased considerably since their introduction a few years ago. One of the advantages of such telephones is, of course, that the user of the telephone is not tied to a fixed location (as in the case of a landline telephone) for the making and receiving of calls but rather the telephone may be used anywhere within signal range of the transmitter. However one otthe advantages of a "fixed" over a mobile telephone is that, in the case of the formel. it is possible easily to provide for making a note of information (e.g. a telephone number) to be kept as a result of the telephone conversation, e.g. by means of providing a writing implement and/or pad at the location of the "fixed" telephone. In the case of a mobile telephone it is often the case that writing implements are not always readily to hand in view of the diverse locations at which calls may be made or received.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to obviate or mitigate the abovementioned disadvantage.

According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a holder for a mobile telephone said holder having a pocket for receiving the mobile telephone and being provided with a sleeve for receiving a writing implement.

The present invention makes use of the fact that mobile phones are generally carried in a holder and that by providing a writing element in the sleeve of the holder it is ensured that the implement is always available for writing notes during the making or receiving of telephone calls.

The sleeve is preferably provided on the outside of the holder.

The holder may for example be of rectangular cross-section traverse to its longest dimension and the sleeve provided along the length of one of the narrower sides of the holder.

For preference, the sleeve is of a resilient or elastic material so as to be capable of gripping the writing implement sufficiently such that it is unable to fall or slip out of the sleeve.

In a preferred embodiment oi the invention, the holder is provided with a writing material (e.g. paper) on which a note of a conversation may be made using the writing implement. The writing material, which will for preference be mounted on a exterior surface of the holder, may for example be in the form of a small pad of paper.

Alternatively the writing material may be a single sheet which is slidable into and out of an open-faced frame. In this case. the writing surface the paper is exposed through the open face of the frame so as to permit a note to be written thereon.

The invention will be further described by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of holder in accordance with the invention (shown containing a mobile telephone); and Fig. 2 is a side view looking at the holder shown in Fig. 1 looking in the direction of arrow A of that Figure.

Referring to Fig. 1. there is illustrated therein a holder 1 for a cellular mobile telephone 2. The holder 1 is of generally rectangular cross-section and along one widthwise edge is provided with a sleeve ; (preferably of an elasticated material) for receiving a writing implement 4 which may be readily inserted into, and removed from, the sleeve 3.

Provided on the opposite widthwise edge in a small pad 5 of writing paper.

If it is desired to write a message either during. or as a result of. a telephone conversation then it will be appreciated that tlle holder 1 will be readily to hand and it is a simple matter to remove the writing implement 4 and use it to make a note on the pad 5.

Claims

CLAIMS 1. A holder for a mobile telephone said holder having a pocket for receiving the mobile telephone and being provided with a sleeve for receiving a writing implement.
2. A holder as claimed in claim 1 wherein the sleeve is provided on the outside of the holder.
3. A holder as claimed in claim 9 wherein the holder is of rectangular crosssection transverse to its longest dimension and the sleeve is provided along the length of one of the narrower sides of the holder.
4. A holder as claimed in any one of claims I to ; wherein the sleeve is of a resilient or elastic material.
5. A holder as claimed in any one of claims 1 to zi provided with a writing material.
6. A holder as claimed in claim 5 wherein the writing material is mounted on an exterior surface of the holder.
7. A holder as claimed in claim 5 or 6 wherein the writing material is in the form of a pad of paper.
8. The combination of a cellular mobile telephone and a holder as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 7 wherein the telephone being received in the pocket of the holder.
