Abstract
A case (10) in which one of a variety of mobile phones with differing sizes can be received includes two longitudinal side bands (12), a rear strip (30) with longitudinal edges connected to the side bands, a front strip (20) overlapped with an upper portion of the side bands and defining a flap (21) extending toward a back portion of the rear strip, a plurality of holes (22) and a transparent window (24), and a connecting piece (40) connected between lower portions of the side bands. The case may be of leather. The side bands (12) and connecting piece 40 may comprise elastic material.
Description
A LEATHER CASE FOR A MOBILE PHONE
The present invention relates to a leather case, and particularly to a leather case in which one of a variety of mobile phones with differing sizes may be received.
Conventional leather cases for mobile phones are substantially rectangular in shape and most of them only have one entrance with a flap to close the entrance. Such leather cases are no longer suitable to various mobile phones which have very different shapes and configurations.
An object of the present invention is to provide a leather case for mobile phones which is adapted to receive any one of a variety of mobile phones with a differing shapes.
According to the present invention, the leather case for mobile phones includes two longitudinal side bands, a rear strip with longitudinal edges connected to the side bands, a front strip overlapped with an upper portion of the side bands and forming a flap extending toward a back portion of the rear strip, a plurality of holes and a transparent window, and a connecting piece connected between lower portions of the side bands.
Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
IN THE DRAWINGS:
Fig. 1 is a perspective exploded view of a leather case for mobile phones according to the present invention;
Fig. 2 is a schematic view of the leather case of the present invention equipped with a NokiaTM mobile phone;
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the mobile phone with a leather case taken along line 3-3 of Fig. 2;
Fig. 4 is a schematic view of the leather case in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention;
Fig. 5 is a schematic view of a conventional leather case; and
Fig. 6 is a schematic view of a mobile phone model manufactured by NokiaTM.
Referring to Fig. 5, a conventional leather case 100 for a mobile phone (not shown) includes a long strip 110 and two side bands 120 integrally formed with the long strip 110. As shown, the long strip 110 is folded as to form a flap 112 and define an entrance 114 for receiving the mobile phone and which is then covered by the flap 112.
The mobile phone suitable to be received within such leather case is NokiaTM
Model 2110. If the type of the model number is upgraded, such as NokiaTM Model 8110 shown in Fig. 6, such a leather case would apparently be inadequate, as the mobile phone T has an arcuated configuration and an extendible mouthpiece 130.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a leather case 10 in which one of a variety of mobile phones with differing sizes may be received, includes two longitudinal side bands 12, a front strip 20, a rear strip 30, and a connecting piece 40. As shown, the front strip 20 is overlapped with an upper portion of the side bands 12 and has a flap 21 which extends toward a back portion of the rear strip 30. The connecting piece 40 is connected between lower portions of the side bands 12 such that a front opening 31 is defined between the connecting piece 40 and the front strip 20 for a user to press pushbutton digits. The front strip 20 further provided with a plurality of holes 22 and a transparent window 24 for the user to respectively listen to an audio signal from a mobile phone and see corresponding data shown on the display panel of the mobile phone T as shown in Fig. 2. As shown, the mouthpiece 130 of the mobile phone T is extended out of the leather case 10 from an outlet 32 (in Fig. 1) defined between the connecting piece 40 and the rear strip 30.
Referring to Fig. 3, the mobile phone T is received within the leather case 10.
The flap 21 of the front strip 20 has a hook portion 26 of such as a VelcroTM strip at a portion facing the back portion of the rear strip 30, which has a loop portion 34 of such as a VelcroTM strip to be adhered by the hook portion 26 of the front strip 20 for securing the mobile phone T in place. A clip 36 is further provided on the back portion of the rear strip 30 for the user to hang the mobile phone T on a belt being worn. The rear strip 30 further defines an upward lip 38 at a distal end thereof as to secure the mobile phone T within the leather case 10 without obstructing the movement ofthe mouthpiece 130.
Referring to Fig. 4, the leather case 10 is exactly the same as that shown in Fig. 1 except that the side bands 12 and the connecting piece 40 are formed of elastic pieces such that the leather case 10 will be suitable to receive a larger mobile phone with a thicker battery.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (5)
1. A leather case in which one of a variety of mobile phones with differing sizes can be received, comprising:
two longitudinal side bands;
