Description

2332002 DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE THIS INVENTION
RELATES TO A DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE, FOR FITTING TO TOILET CISTERN COVERS.
DISSOLVABLE WATER FRESHENERS ARE COMMONLY USED IN HOUSEHOLD TOILET CISTERNS, THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THEM, IS THAT THE CISTERN COVER 11AS TO BE REMOVED TO POSITION THE FRESHENER IN THE WATER. THIS CAN BE AN AWKWARD AND INCONVENIENT TASK, NEEDING USUALLY A SCREWDRIVER, ALSO IF THE TOILET CISTERN COVER HAS BEEN FITTED INTO WALL TILES, THE TILE GROUT WILL BECOME UNTIDY, AND CONSTANTLY REMOVING THE CISTERN COVER, COULD CAUSE THE SCREW HOLES OR HEADS TO BECOME WORN OR DAMAGED. ADDING TO THIS YOU HAVE THE RISK OF DROPPING EITHER THE SCREW OR THE SCREWDRIVER INTO THE TOILET.
THE ABOVE INLET DEVICE COULD ALSO BE USED TO POUR INTO THE TOILET CISTERN, LIQUID FORMS OF FRESHENER OR BLEACHES, INCREASING ITS VERSATILITY.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THERE IS PROVIDED A DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE, FOR FITTING TO TOILET CISTERN COVERS. THE DEVICE COMPRISES OF A SLIDING DRAW, FITTED INTO A DRAW HOUSING. THE DRAW CAN BE SLID OPEN OR CLOSED AS REQUIRED. RAISED PLASTIC GRIP LINES ON THE DRAW HOUSING, AND THE PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE, ARE USED TO HOLD THE PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE ON TO THE DRAW HOUSING. THEREFORE SECURING THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE TO THE TOILET CISTERN COVER. THE DRAW SLIDES IN A DRAW RUNNER, WHICH IS BASICALLY A GROOVE CUT OUT OR MOULDED INTO THE DRAW HOUSING.
A SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY WAY OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING IN WHICH:- FIGURE 1 SHOWS THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE, WITH ITS SLIDING DRAW CLOSED AND PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE DETACHED.
FIGURE 2 SHOWS THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE WITH ITS SLIDING DRAW FULLY OPEN, AND PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE FITTED ONTO THE SLIDING DRAW HOUSING.
FIGURE 3 SHOWS A CROSS SECTION OF THE DEVICE, TAKEN ON A VERTICAL PLANE THROUGH LINE'AA'IN DIRECTION OF ARROW'Y', SEE FIG 2 FIGURE 4 SHOWS A CLEAR GLASS VIEW OF THE TOILET CISTERN, WITH THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE FITTED TO THE CISTERN COVER.
REFERRING TO THE DRAWINGS, THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE, COMPRISES OF A SLIDING DRAW 1, FITTED INTO A DRAW HOUSING 2. THE SLIDING DRAW HAS A DRAW HANDLE 3, WHICH IS ALSO USED AS A DRAW STOP, TO PREVENT THE DRAW SLIDING COMPLETELY OUT OF ITS HOUSING. THE SLIDING DRAW RUNS IN A DRAW RUNNER 4, WHICH IS BASICALLY A GROOVE CUT OUT OR MOULDED INTO THE DRAW HOUSING, THIS IS BEST SHOWN IN FIGURE 2.
LOOKING AT FIGURE 1; YOU CAN SEE THAT THE DRAW HOUSING 2, AND THE PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE 5, HAVE RAISED PLASTIC GRIP LINES 6. THESE GRIP LINES LINE UP WITH EACH OTHER AS THE LOCKING DEVICE IS PUSHED ONTO THE DRAW HOUSING, IN DIRECTION OF ARROW 7. IN FIGURE 2 THE PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE IS FITTED ONTO THE DRAW HOUSING, CLICKING OVER THE 3 APPROPRIATE NUMBER OF PLASTIC GRIP LINES, AS TO ALLOW THE CISTERN COVER TO FIT INTO GAP 8 AS SHOWN. THE RAISED PLASTIC GRIP LINES WILL MARRY TOGETHER AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 3.
FOR MANUFACTURING PURPOSES THE SLIDING DRAW WILL HAVE ITS HANDLE 3 FITTED AFTER IT HAS BEEN SLID INTO THE DRAW HOUSING 2. ALSO THE FRESHENER INLET DEVICE WOULD IDEALLY BE MADE OF PLASTIC AND BE OF A RECTANGULAR SHAPE, BUT THIS MAY VARY SLIGHTLY DURING ITS MANUFACTURE THE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE CAN EITHER BE FITTED TO THE TOILET CISTERN COVER, DURING THE COVERS MANUFACTURE, OR BY THE FOLLOWING METHOD:- FIRSTLY REMOVE COVER FROM THE TOILET CISTERN. A HOLE MUST THEN BE CUT OUT OF THE COVER SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN THE LOWER PART OF THE DRAW HOUSING, IE, PART OF HOUSING WITH PLASTIC GRIP LINES ON. THEN FILE HOLE SLIGHTLY TO ALLOW GRIP LINES TO PASS THROUGH COVER AND TO REMOVE BURRS, REMEMBERING A TIGHT FIT IS DESIRED. THE DRAW HOUSING IS THEN FITTED THROUGH THE TOP OF THE COVER FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEN THE PUSH FIT LOCKING DEVICE IS FITTED ON TO THE DRAW HOUSING, FROM THE INSIDE. CLICKING OVER THE APPROPRIATE NUMBER OF PLASTIC GRIP LINES, TO SECURE THE DEVICE TIGHTLY TO THE CISTERN COVER.
LASTLY FIGURE 4 SHOWS; THE DISSOLVABLE TOILET WATER FRESHENER INLET DEVICE INSTALLED IN ITS APPROPRIATE POSITION ON THE TOILET CISTERN COVER. IT ALSO SHOWS THE PATH OF THE DISSOLVABLE WATER FRESHENER 9, AS IT IS DROPPED THROUGH THE INLET DEVICE INTO THE CISTERN WATER. ONCE THIS IS DONE THE SLIDING DRAW CAN BE SLID SHUT AS IN FIGURE 1, UNTIL FURTHER REQUIRED.
