Abstract

Disclosed is a wood or plastics folding table suitable for measuring, cutting and pasting strips of wallpaper. The upper surface edges of the table includes a scale for determing lengths and widths of the wallpaper. Sliding rules are also included, as shown, and the longitudinally extending rule may be hinged to allow folding with the table. Handles on each short side of the table permits carrying when folded.

DESCRIPTION

2331962 A specially designed folding table that would facilitate the process of measuring, cutting and pasting strips of wallpaper when undertaking a decorating prOJect. The decor 'ease' would be configured as shown in accompanying illustration.

The table would be made of either wood or preferably plastic and would consist of a rectangular top fitted to scissors style folding legs. The two critical points of diffierention for this table would be a series of measurements demarcations etched along all four upper edges and the mclusion of two sliding rules. One positioned horizontally and the other vertically. The measurement demarcations would of course, be used to determine the required length and where appropriate, width of wallpaper. By etching these incremental markings into the surface rather than printed, where the etch would not be prone to wear away of time and frequent use. The inclusion of two sliding rules would enable the person to slide paper under rules, determine the necessary measurements, position the rulers appropriately and then accurately make proper markings on the paper, the paper may be cut to exact dimensions required to fit wall etc.

The table would be formed with a hinged joint running down the middle, to enable the table to be folded m half. The sliding rule running along this dimension would also be hinged at the same point while the rule running along the shorter dimension would be one solid piece a handle would also be placed along each shorter side.

The decor 'ease' when not M use would be folded up into a compact design that would resemble a carrying case etc.

The primary benefits of the decor 'ease' would offer convenience and accuracy to either a professional tradesman or a DIY enthusiast. The decor 'ease' would be a welcomed addition to their collection of tools.

The decor'ease'may also be used to cut measured material accurately, using the rules as previously mentioned.
