Mechanical wave filters.-An acoustic filter for suppressing undesired vibrations comprises a light drum or casing fitting on to the end of a horn BC and containing a number of corrugated, embossed, or folded diaphragms a of paper &c. arranged with the corrugations &c. angularly spaced from one diaphragm to the next, for example, by a right angle, the spaces between the diaphragms communicating with the atmosphere by lateral slots HI.
