Abstract

The lock has a rod 2 which is slidably housed in a hollow barrel 1 so that it can be extended to apply the foot brake pedal and thereby prevent the theft of the car. The rod, with U shaped end, is retracted or extended by way of a trigger handle 3 that pivots about a pin 5 on a supporting bracket 4. The trigger is connected to the rod by a pin 6 that passes through, and cooperates with, a slot 7 in the barrel. The rod is fixed in position relative to the barrel by a lock 10. Mounting points 9 are used to permanently secure the locking device to the car steering column. The device can also be arranged to apply the clutch and accelerator, as shown for example in Figure 7, or alternatively it may function to prevent the pedals from being depressed.

Description

GUN TYPE - ANTI THEFT LOCKING DEVICE This invention relates to a Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device.
Anti theft devices are well known and are widely used throughout the world. These are built in various forms, and there applications are varied. Most anti theft devices that are used on mo-tor vehicles are not built in, each time the vehicle has to be removed the device has to be unlocked and stored away and replace when parked. They are also easily seen and can be tampered with and even removed by intruders.
According to this present Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device, there is a barrel, which allows a bullet with a cap to move up and down freely by means of the trigger, pivot pins and supporting bracket.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by means of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1, Shows in perspective the gun type anti theft locking device which is applicable for the brake pedal in the release position and offer no obstruction to the pedal or driver.
Figure 2. Shows the gun type anti theft locking device in the applied position. The brake pedal is held all wheels are lock.
Figure 3. Shows the components of the anti theft locking device.
Figure 4. Illustrate the gun type anti theft locking device which is applicable for two pedals vehicles, in the release position.
Application is done beneath the pedals.
Figure 5. Shows in perspective the Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device, which is applicable for two pedal vehicles. Locking is done between supporting mount, barrel and bullet.
Figure 6. Shows in perspective the Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device, which is applicable for three pedals vehicles, in the release position. Application is from above the pedals.
Figure 7. Shows in perspective the Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device, in the applied position.
The brake is applied, clutch and accelerator pedals are partially applied.
Referring to the drawing this Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device, has a hallow barrel (1), which allows a Bullet and Cap (2), to move up and down freely. The Trigger (3), is connected to the Bullet and Supporting Bracket (4), by means of Pivot Pin (5), Connecting Pin (6). The Connecting Pin (6), is fixed to the Bullet (2), and protrudes through slot (7), and Ramp (8), built in the Barrel. The ramps act as a mechanical lock for the Bullet and Cap (2). When the vehicle is in park and the unit is applied and also when the vehicle is mobilized and the unit is released.
Mounting Points (9), secure the Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device to the steering column where it is permanently fixed.

Claims (8)

1. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device comprise of a hallow Barrel, Bullet and Cap, which move up and down freely in the Barrel. The supporting Bracket, Pivot Pin and Connecting Pin which connects the Trigger to the Bullet, also supporting points that allow the unit to be located and fixed permanently to the steering column. The lock which secure the vehicle when parked and slot and ramps which locks the Bullet and Trigger mechanically when the Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device is released and the vehicle is in motion.
2. Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (1), that in its release position it will offer no obstruction to the Brake pedal or driver.
3. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (2), that when engaged with the Brake pedal the wheels will be effectively locked and provide maximum security when parked.
4. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (3), that the components are properly built and cannot be removed by hacksaw or hammering because of its hardened property.
5. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (4), that its application is as effective from beneath the pedals as well as above and offer no obstruction to the pedals when depressed.
6. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in (5), it can provide maximum security by locking the Accelerator Pedal and Brake Pedal from beneath so that no movement of the pedals can occur when parked.
7. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (6), that it can lock all three pedals, provide maximum security and offer no obstruction to the pedals or driver when released.
8. The Gun Type Anti Theft Locking Device has claimed in claim (6), which is the applied position that the Brake Pedal is applied the wheels are locked the accelerator pedal and Clutch Pedal are partially applied, if any attempt is made to start the vehicle, the engine will race, thus, alerting the public around. This will make driving difficult or impossible.
