Abstract

A hand-held manipulative puzzle comprises a transparent cube subdivided into cells and a plurality of balls, the cells communicating with each other by means of holes through which the balls can pass and the balls being held captive within the cube.

Description

AGAME: 1 The game consists of a transparent, plastic cube measuring 6 cm which is subdivided into 27 smaller, transparent cubes each measuring 2 cm. (See fig. 1) There are 27 plastic balls with a diameter of 4 mm. . (variable). The balls consist of 1 black ball, 12 white balls and 14 red balls.
The 27 smaller cubes are all interconnected by holes on their inner faces. No hole should be on any outside face. The diameter of each hole should be larger than the diameter of the small balls. In this case a hole with a diameter of 5mm.
would be suitable.
The eight cormer cubes should have 3 holes in the centre of each of the 3 inner faces. (See fig. 2) The 12 cubes immediately between the corner cubes should have 4 holes in the centre of 4 inner faces. (See fig.3) A GAME : 2 The 6 cubes at the centre of each 3 face of the 6 cm should have 5 holes in the centre of 5 inner faces.
(See fig. 4) '3 The central cube of the large 6 cm should have 6 holes, one in the centre of each of its 6 faces.
(See fig 5) The object ofthe game is twofold.
Either, by means of manipulation, rearrange and try to position all 27 balls inside the central cube.
Or, by means of manipulation, rearrange and so position the 27 balls so that the black ball is in the central cube and the other 26 balls of red and white are so positioned that one red ball and one white ball are always next to each other.
As there are more red balls than white, then one red ball must be positioned in each of the eight corner cubes.
A GAME: 3 When completed each face ofthe 3 6 cm should have the same pattern.
Starting from the top left corner and moving right, the pattern of balls should be red, white, red.
The middle row from left to right should be ; white, red, white.
Finally the bottom row from left to right should be a repeat of the top row namely: red, white, red.
(See fig 6)

Claims (1)
