Abstract
A shutter remover comprises a 5-sided open shallow tray of metal, plastics, or the like, which contains a durable plastics inflatable bag, with a valve connectable to a pressure hose. Supporting rods support the shutter and the shutter remover; when the concrete has set the bag is inflated to push against a cut-out part of the shuttering ply as shown, so as to push the shutteringaway from the wall.
Description
The PJ Shutter Remover
This invention relates to the construction industry, carpentry work wear formwork is used to provide the builder with a means of obtaining certain shapes by using formwork to pour insitu concrete into, to obtain the desired shape.
After the concrete has had time to cure, striking can be time consuming, strenuous and dangerous, with carpenters climbing all over the shutters. The PJ shutter remover can save time, reduce the amount of strenuous work and stop carpenters climbing all over shutters. Striking is to remove the formwork from the cured concrete.
The PJ shutter remover is a device which is placed into the shutter between two 6 x 3 timbers at the back of the ply face.
A conventional compressor hose is attached, this inflates a bag which when fully inflated will push the shutter away from the finished concrete. The device is supported by 3 bars placed at the back at two ends and the centre of the device.
The 3 bars would be placed into position when the shutter is made up, the positions would depend upon the carpenters discretion, preferable at the top and the bottom corners of the shutter.
(See attached numbered drawings)
g 1 shell made of steel/aluminium 200x500 2 air inlet /outlet connection to any compressor via a hi pressure hose may have a valve connected to control the rate of expansion of the bag.
3 stop end to keep the PJ shutter remover secure when
in operation 4 steel bars 15mm diameter hi tensile steel 900mm long spaced at 200mm centres 5 deflated plastic in the shape of the shell glued to the inside of shell.
6 back end of the shutter showing positions of 6x3 timbers which make up a shutter.
Claims (4)
1 P. J. Shutter Remover can be placed anywhere on a shutter at a carpenter's discretion. Any number of P J Shutter Removers can be fitted on to a shutter.
2 The P. J. Shutter Remover consists of a case made of plastic, or metal-type material, with a hard durable rubber bag made to withstand pressures up to 60 p.s.i when inflated. This bag is glued to the inside of the case and the case is held into position by 4 supporting rods which also support the shutter structurally when the air bag is inflated.
3 The P.J. Shutter Remover can be easily replaced or removed after the bag has been deflated then slid away from between the cut ply face and supporting rod.
4 A P. J. Shutter Remover substantially as herein describe and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
