Abstract
A comb for removing dandruff has hollow teeth 3 formed with a holes 4 and mounted in a hollow section 5 to which a vacuum section 2 is connected. Suction power may be provided electrically and may be variable. A disposable filter bag may be in the section 2 and the holes 4 may be covered by a netting.
Description
COMB
This invention relates to a comb.
Combs are well known articles of daily life, used by most people to arrange or comb their hair.
Dandruff is a common scalp complaint which especially after combing, is visible in the hair or on the clothing of people.
This is considered disadvantageous in commonly used combs, as, although they bring ones hair into order, they lead to unsightly dandruff scales becoming prominently visible.
According to the invention, there is provided a comb comprising hollow teeth communicating with a hollow passage, wherein the hollow passage is connected to an element comprising a vacuum suction device.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. The Figures show side views of combs according to the present invention.
Referring to Figure 1, the comb comprises a comb section 1 and a section 2 functioning essentially as a vacuum suction device. Comb section 1 comprises hollow teeth 3 formed with hole 4. The hole communicates with a hollow passage 5. When the vacuum suction section 2 is switched on, preferably by operating on/off switch 6, a suction force is produced, creating an air stream through hole 3 via hollow passage 5 into vacuum suction section 2.
The inside of the vacuum suction section 2 is provided with a filter bag 8, which k1i back any particles in the air stream, for example, dandruff, falling out hair or any other dust particles, while the air flow exits the vacuum suction section 2 via holes 7.
The filter bag 8 is preferably disposable, and can thus be changed whenever it is full of particles, dust or dandruff.
The vacuum comb as described above could be powered electrically, or by any other suitable means, and could be portable.
Preferably, the comb section 1 is easily disconnectable from section 2, so that cleaning and disinfecting the individual sections can be easily performed.
The ends of the holes 4 could be provided with a netting or any other suitable means to prevent hair from being sucked in. Alternatively, the netting could be individually adjusted according to the needs of the person operating the comb. For example a person whose main problem is loss of hair could remove these nettings, while a person suffering only from dandruff might not need such nettings.
The device could be favourably used before and/after shampooing. Thus, one could prevent wet dandruff from sticking to the hair.
