Abstract

An internal overflow pipe forms an integral part of the water-closet cistern's syphon flushing unit either as an open type 1 as seen in Fig 2 or inverted as a closed type 5 as seen in Fig 4.

Description

CISTERN OVERFLOW This invention relates to an internal overflow method suitable for all types of water-closet flushing cisterns.
It is well known that overflows from water-closets cisterns discharge externally sometimes at a great distance from the cistern itself thereby needing long runs of pipework.
By incorporating a suitable size pipe open or closed to the atmosphere and fixed into the discharge side of any syphon flushing unit, it will then be the overflow from the water-closet cistern eliminating the need for any other forms of overflows.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows customary syphon flushing unit.
Figure 2 shows view of open type internal overflow.
Figure 3 shows plan view of open type internal overflow.
Figure 4 shows view of closed type internal overflow.
Figure 5 shows plan view of closed type internal overflow. Referring to the drawing(s) the open type internal overflow pipe 1 is fixed into the discharge side 2 of water-closets syphon flushing unit near to the support flange 3 and finishing 8 tol3mm above settled water line 4 as shown in Fig 2.
The closed type internal overflow pipe 5 is inverted and fixed into the discharge side 2 of water-closets syphon flushing unit 6 to 1 Omm above the settled water line 4 with a small vent hole 6 in the top of it.
Plan views Fig 3(open type) and Fig 5(closed type) shows position of internal overflow(s) whereby all contact with other working parts in the water-closet cistern is avoided.

Claims (5)

1 By making the internal overflow pipe an integral part of the syphon flushing unit all previous and other overflow connections fittings and pipework become obsolete.
2 The integral overflow pipe is not seen outside of the water-closet cistern.
3 The integral overflow pipe discharges down the flush pipe of the water-closet cistern into the lavatory pan.
4 As the integral overflow pipe is part of the syphon flushing unit Claim 1 and Claim 2, apply to low level watercloset suite's, high level water-closet suite's, and close coupling water-closet suite's.
5 As the integral overflow pipe is part of the syphon flushing unit Claim 1 and Claim 2, applies to any and all situations where conventional syphon flushing unit's are used.
