Abstract

An overflow fitting for a flushing cistern (1) comprises a U-shaped trap (2) for mounting inside the cistern, wherein the outlet of the trap is connected to pipework (3) passing through a wall of the cistern to a drain (5), the arrangement being such that part of the pipework (4) is transparent to enable any overflow discharge to be seen.

Description

Overflow Drain Connection Adapter Kit Description This invention relates to an overflow drain connection adapter kit.
Speed of construction on building sites is probably more important today than it ever has been. Designers are constantly striving to find ways that will increase the speed of construction and consequently reduce costs. The installation of plumbing fittings is of course included in these problems. When these fittings require an overflow pipe, this can necessitate the need to run long lengths of pipe through the building, cutting through the fabric and sometimes causing unnecessary damage which will need to be repaired.
According to the present invention, an adapter kit is provided which allows water over flow pipe to connect to a drain or sanitary pipe work with out the risk of unwanted gases entering the building, allows overflowing water to be detected during or after discharge and incorporates no mechanical or other moving parts.

Claims (1)

  1. Overflow Drain Connection Adapter Kit Claims Claim 1 A system of overflow pipe work comprising a trap of such shape and dimensions within a storage cistern with moulded tank connector for vertical or horizontal connection on any side of a storage cistern and a transparent barrel indicator. This system enables itself to connect to a drain, sanitary pipe work or some other out fall or connection, prevents the escape of gasses and odours from the drainage system, sanitary pipe work and overflow pipe work and enables water flowing through the over flow pipe work to be seen through a transparent barrel indicator during or after discharge.
Claim 2 A system of overflow pipe work as claimed in claim 1, where the trap in the storage cistern, is of such shape and dimensions to ensure that there is sufficient water within it's seal to prevent the escape of gasses and odours from the drainage system, sanitary pipe work or overflow system of pipe work.
Claim 3 A system of overflow pipe work as claimed in claim 1, where the trap within the storage cistern is of such shape and dimensions to prevent the stagnation of water within it's seal by partially emptying and refilling in
    parallel with the storage dstem.
Claim 4 A system of overflow pipe work as claimed in claim 1, where the trap within the storage cistern incorporates a moulded tank connector for vertical or horizontal connection to the cistern. claim 5 A-system of overflow pipe work as claimed in claim 1, where the trap within the storage cistern is of such shape and dimensions to enable it to be fitted on any side of the storage cistern.
Claim 6 A system of overflow pipe work as claimed in claim 1, which enables water discharging through the pipe work to be seen through a transparent barrel indicator during or after discharge, which does not incbtpote any moving, mechanical or electrical parts.
Claim 7 A system of overflow pipe work and fittings-substantially as desci'ed in figures 1 to 3 of the accompanying drawings.
