Abstract

231,753. Cosby, E. L. H. Sept. 17, 1924. Handles with recessedback retaining devices for brushes. - A toothbrush comprises a hollow back 1 having an opening 2 in which a removable bristle stock 3 is positioned and retained by the end of a rod 9 projecting into a hole 15 in the end of the stock the other end of the stock being concave to engage with the curved inner end 4 of the opening. The rod 9 passes through a hole in the handle portion of the back and is secured to a curved spring 10 by means of which it can be with. drawn to free the stock. The back may be made of composition strengthened by a metal wire or strip frame 6, or may be made wholly of silver or other metal.
