Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle having an electronically controlled, continuously variable transmission (CVT = continuously variable transmission), wherein continuous adjustment of the transmission occurs, during braking to supplement the braking of the motor vehicle, the adjustment of the transmission ratio being such that a constant engine braking moment is produced during the braking support operation.
