Abstract

A clip guard for covering steel fixing clips or buckles comprises a plastic band with four planar sides, with one edge of one side hinged to an edge of another side, and a hook and slot fastener for securing the guard in the closed position, ie forming a continuous band.

Description

This invention relates to a plastic guard which totally covers steel fixing clips or buckles.
Steel fixing clips or buckles used in connecting steel banding or strapping have long proved to be a safety hazard if the clip or buckle is not secured correctly. The plastic guard when fitted totally covers the clip or buckle so removing any sharp steel edoes. The plastic guard is designed so that it Will not close shut if the clip or buckle is not secured correctly. The plastic guard will be an aid to quality inspection of the securing of the clips or buckles.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS: CLIP GUARD 1. The clip guard is a device which totally encloses steel clips which are used to secure steel banding.
  2. 2. The clip guard is made of polypropylene material.
  3. 3. The top and bottom of the clip guard is joined with a hinge on one side. (See enclosed drawing detail 2).
  4. 4. Closure of the clip guard is maintained by slot and hook. (See enclosed drawing detail 3).
