Abstract

The saddle cover comprises a skin 10 which stretches over a conventional bicycle saddle 14. The skin incorporates a pocket 12 which is inflated by means of a valve 13 situated at the rear. The cover is strapped around the underside of the saddle 15 by loops and thongs 15 or buckles.

Description

Inflatable bicycle saddle cover This invention relates to an inflatable bicycle saddle cover The inflatable bicycle cover would be used as an adjunct or accessory to the conventional bicycle saddle. The cover would fit over an existing bicycle saddle and would be seen as a promotion of comfort.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective the shape of the cover, with the dotted line showing the parameters of the inflatable pocket; Figure 2 shows how the cover stretches onto the existing bicycle saddle; and Figure 3 illustrates the rear view showing strapping running under the saddle, and the position of the valve at the back.
Referring to the drawing the inflatable bicycle saddle cover comprises a skin 10 made from material such as Polyurethane film which will stretch with enough elasticity to hold itself in place over the existing rigid saddle 14. Incorporated in the skin is a pocket 12. After the skin is stretched over the saddle the pocket can be inflated by means of a valve situated at the rear of the cover 13.
The cover is further held in place by a loop and thong 15 enabling the cover to be secured around the underside of the saddle. A buckle, or similar means (not shown) could be used as an alternative to a loop and thong.

Claims (3)

Claims
1 An inflatable bicycle saddle cover comprising a skin which stretches over a conventional bicycle saddle, and incorporating a pocket which is inflated by means of a valve.
2 An inflatable bicycle saddle cover as claimed in Claim 1 wherein a loop and thong, a buckle, or similar means, is incorporated in the skin to each side which enables the cover to be strapped around the underside of the saddle.
3 An inflatable bicycle saddle cover substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-3 of the accompanying drawings.
