Description

ONE HANDED JOYSTICK This invention relates to joystick controllers.
Joystick controllers have been in use for many years and are mainly used for games, either by using both hands to hold it or by relying on suction cups to stick it to a smooth surface or by the actual weight of the joystick to hold it in one place.
With most joysticks you need to use both hands and you can not use one particular joystick for all functions and makes of computer.
The one handed joystick being a contactless intelligent joystick which is strapped to your arm with the capability of emulating the most comnon joystick modes and IBM serial mice.
The joystick has three axis of motion and one extra analogue control. Provision is made for several auxiliary functions thus giving more freedom of movement and enabling one hand to remain free.
The one handed joystick comprises of three main parts, the first being a hand held joystick which is then attached to a contactless joystick (second part) in which the controller is held. This is attached to a support system (third part) which in turn is attached to your arm thus giving you complete control and freedom of movement using only one hand.
A detailed explanation of the invention will be described by drawings accompanied by the reference.
FEFERRINS TO FIGURE 1 OF 2 (1) Support system which is attached to (2).
(1) gives complete freedom of movement, when positioned on your arm held in place be (4).
(2) Contactless joystick which is attached to (1) and (3).
(2) holds all electrical and computer components.
(3) Joystick which is attached to (2).
(3) is held in hand to control functions being used on computer.
(4) Straps positioned on (1).
(4) wraps around arm, fastens to hold (1) in place.
(5) Electronic controller inside (2).
(6) Contactless mechanism inside (2).
(7) Contactless potentiometer button on (3).
(8) Auxiliary switch on (3).
(9) Planview of (1),(2) and (3).
htet lNG TO FIGURE 2 OF 2.
(10) Shows the degrees of motion around the X and Y axis.
(11) Shows the degrees of motion around the Z axis plus the additional analogue control of button (3).

Claims (2)

1 The one handed joystick comprising of a support system which in turn is attached to your arm, thus giving you complete control and freedom of movement using only one hand.
2 The one handed joystick as claimed in claim 1 or wherein the body means is adapted to straps positioned on support system, wraps around the arm and fastens to hold the joystick in place.
