Description

BEACH BAG BED 1. This invention relates to a beach bag with attached mat or bed.
2. Beach bags are normally formed as a closable sack with a flap or cover and a shoulder or hand carrying strap.
3. With the present invention there is provided an enlarged flap attached at the base of the bag. It is this flap which can be extended to form a mat or bed for lying or sitting on and which when folded forms the closing flap of the bag.
4. A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying two pages of drawings.
Figure 1 shows a side elevation of the bag and extended bed; 'a' being the handle, 'b' being the bag and 'c' the bed.
Figure 2 shows the front elevation.
Figure 3 shows the plan view, 'd' being interior pockets within the bag.
Figure 4 shows the side elevation with the bed folded in half and then folded over the bag to form the closing flap.
Figure 5 shows the three stages '5A','5B' and '5C' being views of the bag with bed fully extended, folded in half and fully folded.

Claims (7)

1. A beach bag bed comprising an upright bag, shoulder or carrying strap and an extended flap.
2. A beach bag bed as described in claim 1 wherein the extended flap is upholstered or padded to form a comfortable base for lying or sitting on.
3. A beach bag bed as described in claim 1 wherein the extended flap is attached to the bottom edge of the bag.
4. A beach bag bed as described in claim 1 wherein the extended flap may be folded in half, using the poppers or fasteners provided.
5. A beach bag bed as described in claim 1 wherein the flap, once folded in half, may then be raised and folded over the bag to form a closing flap.
6. A beach bag bed as described in claim 1 wherein the exterior surface of the body of the bag and the exteriorlunder surface of the flap may be made of a weather proofed material and the innerlupper surface of the extended flap may be of a softer material.
7. A beach bag bed as described herein with reference to drawings 1 to 5 on the accompanying two pages of drawings.
