Description
EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A EMERGENCY REPAIR KIT FOR COOLANT
SYSTEMS.
COOLANT SYSTEMS ARE A WELL NONE MEANS OF COOLING INTERNAL
COMBUSTION ENGINES BY A COOLANT JACKET CONTAINING A MIXTURE OF
WATER AND INHIBITOR AND INCORPORATING A PUMP. COOLANT SYSTEMS
ALSO INCORPORATE METAL, RUBBER AND PLASTIC/NYLON PIPES TO CONVEY
THE COOLANT AROUND THE SYSTEM TO AND FROM THE RADIATOR. AS THE
COOLANT PUMP IS MECHANICALLY DRIVEN WITH A FAN ATTACHED, AIR IS
DRAWN THROUGH THE RADIATOR AND COOLS THE COOLANT IN THE SYSTEM.
COOLANT SYSTEMS ARE PRONE TO LEAKING HOWEVER, WHEN THE COOLANT
IS LOST THROUGH LEAKAGE THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
OVERHEATS. THIS WOULD CAUSE DAMAGE MOREOVER WHEN THE INTERNAL
COMBUSTION ENGINE IS COUPLED TO A AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE OR MARINE
VESSAL THE OPERATER BECOMES IMMOBILE.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THERE IS PROVIDED A EMERGENCY
COOLANT REPAIR KIT. COMPRISING OF ONE 50ML TUBE OF PASTE JOINTING
COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER. ONE CIRCULAR METAL PLATE PATCH. ONE
BANDAGE MADE FROM POLYMIDE AND CELLULOSE. FOUR PLASTIC TIE
STRAPS. ONE PAIR OF P.V.C. GLOVES, ONE SMALL ROLL OF STRONG
ADHESIVE WATERPROOF TAPE. A DEGREASER WHICH EVAPORATES. ALL
COMPONENTS INCORPORATED IN A PLASTIC SEALED BAG.
A SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY
WAY OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS IN
WHICH FIG 1-6:
FIGURE 1 SHOWS A COOLANT SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IN
PERSPECTIVE
FIGURE 2 SHOWS A CYLINDER BLOCK IN PERSPECTIVE
FIGURE 3 ILLUSTRATES A FRACTURED COOLANT PIPE OF COOLANT SYSTEM
FIGURE 4 ILLUSTRATES THE BANDAGE IMPREGNATED WITH THE JOINTING
COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER WOUND TIGHTLEY OVER THE FRACTURED
AREA WHICH IS SECURED AT EACH END WITH PLASTIC TIE STRAPS. ALSO
ILLUSTRATED IS THE CIRCULAR METAL PLATE PATCH WITH ITS SURFACE
COATED WITH THE JOINTING COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER, TOUCHING THE
FRACTURED AREA OF THE RADIATOR. THIS BEING HELD BY THE STRONG
ADHESIVE WATER PROOF TAPE, SEALED. THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION
ENGINE AT A STAND STILL.
FIGURE 5 ILLUSTRATES A FRACTURED CYLINDER BLOCK OF THE INTERNAL
COMBUSTION ENGINE
FIGURE 6 ILLUSTRATES A CIRCULAR METAL PLATE PATCH WITH ITS SURFACE
COATED WITH THE JOINTING COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER IN CONTACT
WITH THE FRACTURED AREA. THE PATCH IS HELD IN PLACE WITH THE
STRONG ADHESIVE WATER PROOF TAPE. SYSTEM SEALED.
THE DEGREASER IS USED TO CLEAN GENERAL AREA AND TO HELP BANDAGE
AND PATCH TO SECURE TO THE FRACTURED AREA WHILST THE JOINTING
COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER CURES. THE EMERGENCY REPAIR KIT FULLY
ASSEMBLED AND CURED ALLOWS THE COOLANT SYSTEM TO BE REFILLED
AND PROVIDES A EMERGENCY REPAIRTHEREFORE THE OPERATER IS MOBILE.
Claims (7)
1) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT. A MEANS TO CARRY OUT A
EMERGENCY REPAIR TO COOLANT SYSTEMS OF INTERNAL
COMBUSTION ENGINES. THE IMPREGNATED BANDAGE, AND JOINTING
COMPOUND LEAK SEALER ON METAL PLATE PATCH APPLIED TO
FRACTURED AREAS OF COOLANT SYSTEM.
2) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 WHEREIN
IS SECURED WITH PLASTIC TIE STRAPS AND STRONG ADHESIVE WATER
PROOF TAPE.
3) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR
CLAIM 2 WHEREIN THE JOINTING COMPOUND AND LEAK SEALER
PROVIDES A WATER PROOF SEAL AND RESISTANCE INCORPORATING
THE BANDAGE AND PATCH.
4) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR
CLAIM 3 WHEREIN THE BANDAGE IS MADE FROM A NON COTTON
SUBSTANCE OR MATERIAL.
5) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR
CLAIM 2 WITH THE COMPONENTS OF THE KIT CONTAINED IN A PLASTIC
SEALED BAG.
6) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR
CLAIM 3 OR CLAIM 4 WHEREIN THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IS
COUPLED TO A AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE OR MARINE VESSAL.
7) A EMERGENCY COOLANT REPAIR KIT SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED
HEREIN WITH REFERENCE FIG 1-6 DRAWINGS.

WHEREIN THE LEAK SEALER AND JOINTING COMPOUND,PROVIDES A WATERPROOF AND
LEAKPROOF SEAL AND RESISTANCE INCORPORATING A METAL PLATE BACKING.

THE COMPONENTS OF THE KIT ARE CONTAINED IN A PLASTIC BAG,WHICH IS SEALED.
