Nails. - A wear-resisting element for boots adapted to be embedded in a cushion sole or heel 1 comprises a stud 3 having a concave upper side 9, a narrow shank 7, and a conical head 8 with a concave under side 10. The stud may be circular, and the head of less diameter than the body. The concave parts of the stud firmly hold the rubber or composition in which the stud is moulded. The studs are held in the mould by projections engaging sockets 5 in the stud.
