Abstract

230,353. D³rkoppwerke Akt.-Ges., and Schroeder, K. Aug. 14, 1924. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means. - Lubricant is fed automatically to the joints of a chain-track 2 for endless-track vehicles from a lubricator comprising a ratchet wheel 4 mounted in an oil reservoir 3 and actuated by pawl mechanism from a rocking lever 11, one end 12 of which is pivoted to the receptacle 3 while the other end carries a) roller 13 held in the path of the chain rollers or of their shafts or of abutments provided on the chain. A discharge pipe 9, adjustably pivoted to the lever 11, carries a scoop 10 which embraces the wheel 4 and sweeps oil from the wheel into the pipe on each upward movement of the lever 11. A pawl 5 is pivoted to the outer end of an arm 7 mounted on the wheel shaft 6, and a bracket 8 on the pipe 9 is pivoted to the arm 7. The stroke of the lever 11 is regulated by a screw 14, and a detent pawl 16 prevents retrograde movement of the wheel 4. The discharge orifice of the pipe 9 is contracted so as to retain the oil and discharge it into troughs 17 on the joints under the influence of the jerks caused by the dropping of the lever 11.
