Abstract
A baited slug trap comprises a two part body 1 and 2, the upper part 1 has access holes 3 and the lower part 2 includes a bait dish 4 having a peel off plastics cover 7. The trap is disposable.
Description
SLUG AND SNAIL TRAP This is a trap designed to catch and kill slugs and snails, using slug pellets. It is also designed to protect wildlife.
The trap works by attracting the slugs and snails into the trap by a very strong smelling bait. When inside the trap the slugs and snails eat the slug pellets and then die inside the trap. This protects wildlife such as birds, hedgehogs, frogs, toads and even pets from eating either the poisoned slugs and snails or the pellets themselves.
The trap consists of two main parts as shown in figure 1 & 2. A cover 1, which has blanked off entrance holes 8, these are cut out for use (holes cut out 3) and a base 2, this has a raised centre bowl 4 containing the bait 6 this is covered by a removeable film 7.
To use the trap remove cover 1 shown in figure 2 cut out the blanked off entrance holes 8, sprinkle some slug pellets onto the base platform 5 then remove film 7 from the bait bowl 4, replace cover 1 and leave where slugs and snails are a problem.
