Abstract
Air Jack is a pneumatic jacking device for raising motor vehicles mainly to facilitate change of a wheel. It comprises of an an inflatable bag (1) which is positioned under the vehicle and inflated employing the exhaust from the vehicle through a hose (2) connecting the exhaust to the bag. The bag (1) has a built-in filter (4) to arrest polluting gases.
Description
EASI - JACK (The Motorist's Friend)
The Easi-Jack is a unique innovation that allows you to raise the car effortlessly when changing a wheel, and is much quicker, cleaner and safer than with a conventional jack.
OPERATION FOR USE
Remove the Easi-Jack from its bag and place 2/3rds under the jacking point up to the marked line on the bag...partially loosen the wheel nuts....fit the valve end pipe into the jack socket. Figure 1... and turn clockwise and lock with a firm twist.
Making sure there are NO kinks in the pipe...locate the other end with the cone onto the exhaust pipe also with a push and a twist clockwise until firmly in position. (With carS with two or more exhaust pipes any one will do).
Make sure that the handbrake is firmly on and that the car is out of gear...then start the engine, the exhaust will now inflate the jack, (reving the engine gently will speed up the action of the jack), should the cone be blown off of the exhaust pipe...just replace it more firmly than before.
Once the wheel is clear of the ground...stop the engine and change the wheel...tighten the wheelnuts and then by gently moving the lever at the jack socket anti-clockwise, the vehicle will gradually be lowered, tighten the wheelnuts fully and remove pipe from the exhaust and Easi-Jack.
Finally, press down on deflated bag with hands or feet to completely empty with the socket facing away from you, re-pack into bag to be used for the next emergency.
WARNING Make sure there are NO sharp objects where you place
the jack, either under the car, or on the ground!!
The system includes a built in carbon filter, that is installed inside the bag that stops emissions from escaping when the bag is deflated after use.
The EASI-JACK is a unique innovation that allows you to raise the vehicle effortlessly.
It is placed under the vehicle near the wheel you need to change.
The EASY-JACK is inflated by the exhaust of your vehicle and lowered by releasing the valve slowly.
It can be used on any surface and is particularly good on soft or broken ground where a normal jack would be useless.
Because of its unique design and construction, the weight of the vehicle is spread over a much greater area.
EASI-JACK is ideal for all vehicles and is most suitable for people who find an ordinary jack a dangerous item to use.
EASI-JACK comes in three different sizes for various vehicles in a stowage bag ready for that emergency wheel change.
Claims (4)
1. A pneumatic jacking device for rasing motor vehicles mainly to facilitate
change of puncured tyres, comprising of an inflatable bag made oftough
PVC coated polyester material, inflated employing exhaust from the motor
vehicle through a rubber hose; the bag having a built-in vent, which serves
as inlet for the exhaust to inflate it, and a built-in filter to absorb polluting
gases; the hose having, at one end, a one way valve which allows flow of
the exhaust into the bag and a lock-in adapter to fit the vent and at the
other end an adapter to fit the exhaust pipe of motor vehicles.
2. A pneumatic jacking device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the valve adapter
and the socket inlet are so designed that the valve adapter locks into the
socket inlet.
3. A pneumatic jacking device as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the
built-in filter is built into the bag on the inside and covers the socket inlet
from inside and controls the deflation of the bag.
4. A pneumatic jacking device as claimed in claim 2 or claim 3 wherein the
hose has a conical press fit adapter to fit the exhaust pipes of motor
vehicles.
