Abstract

A dog toilet comprises a compound 12 having a floor sloping to a central urination pole 19. The compound is flushable and has facilities for washing hands and storing cleaning apparatus 17. There is provision for playing pre-recorded dog barking sounds and an odour emitting system, each for attracting dogs into the compound.

Description

DOG TOILET COMPOUND (Technical Field) This invention relates to a Dog Toilet Compound (Background) There has been much public debate recently about the toileting habits of dogs and the fouling of pavement6 and parks, (see Daily Telegraph 27 July 1994). Increasingly parents are not able to let their children play freely in public parks in case their childrens' hands and faces becone doubed with droppings. It is not only unpleasant but dangerous too; there are health risks as several types of disease are spread or can be spread by canine faeces, especially parvoirus infection in dogs. Also when the roundworm Toxocara canis is transmitted from dogs to humans, diseases that are caused by it can in some cases lead to blindness.By installing the Dog Toilet Compound in parks, towns and cities one could reduce the risk of disease and the unpleasantness.
(Essential Technical Features) Tbe present invention provides a Dog Toilet Compound. Concrete slabs or ceramic tiles laid to falls into gully. A central urination pole, hose reel or automatic water flushing system to maintain hygiene, leads into septic tank or cess pit or main drain as appropriate. A wash hand basin, shovel and yard brush for use by the dog owner.
Shed construction in stained timber, which allows for thermal insulation and internal lining; it would be bolted down on concrete base. A music and intercon system built into the wall, with the odour of dogs to attract the dogs to the area where to pass motion (droppings/urine). The Dog Toilet Compound would be constructed to blend in with the environment.
(Example) Figure 1 shows in perspective, the Dog Toilet Compound.
Figure 2 shows general position of the Dog Toilet Compound.
