Abstract

230,101. Savy, E. L. A. Feb. 29. 1924, [Convention date]. Endless-chain machines; moulding confectionery.-Ap. paratus for filling cream &c. centres into chocolate &c. comprises a plate 1 furnished with depending fingers or projections 3 adapted to press the centres 11 to a uniform depth within the moulds 2. The plate 1 is furnished with a handle 10 counterbalanced at 12 and is finished with an electric heating-device 7 to prevent clogging of the fingers 3. Screws on the plate 1 engaging the mould sides determine the depth to which the fingers enter the mould cavities. The mould is positioned by brackets 16, 16<1> and the plate 1 is guided by a spur 14. Fig. 6 shows a machine in which the moulds 2 are advanced by chains 30 beneath a chocolate hopper 38 and past scrapers 39, 40 and, after centres have been inserted at 41, past apparatus 26 for inserting the centres which is reciprocated by crank mechanism 21, then past a scraper 42 for spreading the extruded chocolate over the creams on to a delivery conveyer 43 passing over a tapping-table 44 and beneath patting-devices.
