Abstract

A golf ball position indicator which enables the area a ball is lying in to be clearly indicated comprises a ribbon 1 with a weighted end 2.

Description

TITLE: GOLF BALL POSITION INDICATOR The present invention relates to a golf ball position indicator.
When a ball strays off the fairway on a golf course it comes to rest in longer grass and is sometimes difficult to find. The common practice is for all the players to assist the golfer in searching for his ball. When found the position is noted mentally by the players. The other players usually walk away from the ball to return to their own play, and the current player to collect his trolley or bag. Time is then spent searching again for the exact position of the ball on his return often delaying the play.
It is therefore proposed to mark the area at a point near the ball by dropping a marker to indicate the ball's position.
The invention consists preferably of a length of ribbon or similar material which is weighted at one end. The ribbon may be printed if desired, or manufactured in any eolour or pattern required.
To aid understanding of the invention it will be described with respect to a preferred form shown in the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a diagrammatic plan view of the invention.
Typically, any suitable material 1 and any suitable size and shape can be used. The weight 2 on the end is preferably enclosed by the material, but may be attached in a suitable manner outside the material.

Claims (2)

CLAIMS.
1) A golf ball position indicator enabling the ball position to be indicated in a clearly visible manner.
2) A ball position indicator as claimed in 1 wherein a weight and ribbon are utilised.
