Description

Specifications TITLE OF THE INVENTION CD protector and CD holder BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a CD (compact disk) holder.
CDs (compact disks) have been sold at stores as a complete part or have been sold as being inserted into a magazine, etc. In such cases, a CD is directly accommodated in an envelope made of paper or unwoven fabric, and the envelop is inserted in the magazine.
Furthermore, since there is no suitable case for mailing a CD, unavoidably a plastic case which is used when selling a CD at a store is also used for mailing.
A conventional method of a direct placing of a CD in an envelop had a problem by which the CD is liable to be damaged or impaired in transit since the CD is directly accommodated therein and the protection thereof is not perfect. Still furthermore, in a case where a conventional plastic case which has been used for selling CDs at a store is used for mailing, the size thereof is large and the weight is heavy. Moreover, the mailing cost is increased.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the abovementioned problems, a CD protector according to the invention is characterized in that it is made of a synthetic resin, the thickness of which is very thin,0.3mm to lmm, and the total weight of which is very light, 5 to 20 grams, and is provided with a CD placing portion formed of a circular-shaped concave part, the diameter of which is roughly identical to that of the CD, with a CD fixing part formed at the center thereof, and the total height thereof is 3mm or less.
A CD holder is characterized in that the CD protector is fixed at one side of the twice-folded ground paper which is roughly two times larger than the CD protector, with the other side made a flap.
Furthermore, another CD holder is characterized in that it is provided with a CD placing portion formed of a circular-shaped concave part, the diameter of which is roughly identical to that of the CD, and a CD fixing portion at the center of the CD placing portion, wherein a CD protector made of synthetic resin which is 3.5mm high is fixed on a large-sized ground paper which is folded into two or three, with a part thereof made a flap, and a perforation or cutoff line, from which it is possible to detach the CD protector is provided on the surface of the ground paper.
Still another CD holder is characterized in that a booklet in which the content of a CD is printed is inserted between the ground paper and the flap, and yet another CD holder is featured in that the CD protector is laterally fixed to ensure a side opening, and a further CD holder is featured in that it is fixed at the middle of a large-sized ground paper, a pasteboard having the same thickness as that of the CD protector is formed therearound, thereby preventing the surface of the CD protector and CD from protruding from the surface of the pasteboard.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a CD holder and CD protector, by which a CD is simply accommodated with reliability, which is not bulky even though a CD is inserted in a magazine, is able to save the mailing cost due to the light weight thereof, and is able to improve the commodity quality resulting from the functionability thereof.
It is another object of the invention to provide a CD holder and a CD protector which are very convenient for carrying a CD, storing the same and mailing the same since the CD is fixed at the fixing part of the CD protector and is accommodated in an envelope in this state.
It is yet another object of the invention to provide a CD holder and a CD protector which, when the CD protector is fixed on ground paper, are able to store, carry and mail a CD with a flap closed after the CD is fixed on the CD protector.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a CD holder and a CD protector which are able to be inserted in a magazine, etc. when the CD protector is fixed on a large-sized ground paper and are able to be used with the CD protector separated by a perforation or cutting line.
These objects and other advantages of the invention will be seen in the accompanying drawings and following description of preferred embodiments.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION Fig.l is a plan view showing a first preferred embodiment of the invention, and Fig.2 is a crosssectional view taken along the line II-II in Fig.l. At a holder 10 of the first preferred embodiment, a placing portion 12 of a CD 1, which is formed of a circular-shaped concave part, the diameter of which is roughly identical to that of the CD 1, is formed at the center of a CD protector 10 being roughly square as illustrated in the drawing, and a fixing portion 13 of the CD 1 is provided at the middle of the placing portion 12.
The abovementioned CD protector 10 is produced by molding very thin synthetic resin plate. Thickness of 0.5mm to lmm in a case of injection molding, 0.3mm to lmm in a case of vacuum molding, and 0.3mm to lmm in a case of press molding is suitable as the plate thickness. The height L1 is less than 3.5mm. Since it is suitable that the weight is 13 grams to 20 grams, it is possible to select the weight; in this range. In this preferred embodiment, the weight is 15 grams as an injection molded article.
Herebelow, the actions of a CD case according to the first preferred embodiment, which is constructed as described above, will be explained.
A CD 1 may be fixed at the fixing part 13 installed at the center of the placing portion 12 at the middle of the CD protector 10. In this case, the CD 1 is completely fixed at the CD protector 10 and is able to be inserted in a magazine as being inserted in an envelop in this state.
Thereby, it is possible for a CD to be protected from impact, etc. and to be mailed in safety. Furthermore, there is an advantage that the CD protector is lighter in weight and smaller in bulk than with any other conventional means.
Fig.3 is a plan view showing a second preferred embodiment of the invention. This preferred embodiment is such that the CD protector 10 of the above first preferred embodiment is fixed at ground paper 21 foldable or folded into two. One side of the ground paper 20 is made a flap 22.
When using the same, A CD 1 is fixed at the CD protector 10 and the flap 22 is folded and closed at the creasing line. In this preferred embodiment, the strength thereof is more improved than that of the first preferred embodiment, whereby the CD protection is made more complete. Furthermore, it is possible to carry the CD 1 protected in the CD protector 10 with the flap 22 closed, and it is possible to store the same on a shelf, arranging the same in a row as with conventional CDs.
A description will be given below of a third preferred embodiment with reference to Fig.4. The CD protector 10 according to the third preferred embodiment is for use when being inserted in a magazine, etc.
A CD protector according to this preferred embodiment is such that a large ground paper 31 is prepared and a CD protector 10 of the first preferred embodiment is fixed on the surface of the ground paper 31. One side of the ground paper 31 constitutes a flap 22. The size of the ground paper 31 is not defined. However, it may be decided according to the size of a magazine in which the CD protector is inserted.
When using the same, a CD 1 is fixed at the CD protector 10 and the flap 32 is folded and closed at the creasing line, and is inserted in a magazine, etc. With the preferred embodiment, in a case where a CD 1 is sold as being attached to a magazine, etc., the CD protection is made complete. Furthermore, since the surfaces of the ground paper 31 and flap 32 are provided with a perforation or a cutting line 33, this preferred embodiment will become a CD holder which is similar to that in the above second preferred embodiment if the ground paper 31 and flap 32 are cut off along the cutting line 33.
Since it is necessary to let customers see the CD 1 when inserting the same in a magazine, a window W is constructed by providing the surface of the ground paper 31 with a cutting line K in a fourth preferred embodiment shown in Fig.5, whereby a part of the CD protector 10 is exposed through the window W. Furthermore, by making the CD protector 10 transparent, it is constructed that the existence of a CD 1 can be seen from outside the ground paper 31.
Fig.6 is a plan view of a fifth preferred embodiment of the invention. The fifth preferred embodiment is a modification example of a CD protector according to the third preferred embodiment, in which a CD protector according to the first preferred embodiment is fixed on the surface of a large-sized ground paper 41. The effects and action thereof are similar to those of the third preferred embodiment.
Fig.7 is a sixth preferred embodiment. The sixth preferred embodiment is such that a CD protector 10 is fixed on the ground paper 51, and a booklet 53 in which the contents of the CD 1 is printed is inserted between the CD protector 10 and the flap 52. According to the preferred embodiment, since the contents and/or details which introduce pictures of CD-G (graphic), video CD, DVD (digital video disk), etc are printed, it is necessary to see the contents or details of the CD, which are not able to be seen at a glance, in a form of a list as a printed matter. Furthermore, as the CD protector 10 is 3.5mm thick or less, it is not bulky. Therefore, even though a CD 1 is inserted in a book or magazine, the book or magazine is free from any sense of incongruity as a usual book or magazine, and the book likeliness will not be lost.Still furthermore, if a CD protector is made a vertical type and is made closer to the pattern of a book or magazine, the same will be a novel package in which a printing medium and electronic medium are fused together.
Fig. 8 shows a seventh preferred embodiment. Although a CD protector 65 is fixed on the ground paper 61 in this preferred embodiment, the preferred embodiment features in that the CD protector 65 is fixed laterally and is opened in the lateral direction. According the seventh preferred embodiment, the CD protector will be the same as that of plastic cases which have been employed for almost all CD packages. Therefore, both of them are able to enjoy the common exhibition shelves, whereby common points are secured in the marketability of these commodities.
Fig.9 shows an eighth preferred embodiment. The eighth preferred embodiment is an example in which a CD protector is used in a large-sized magazine 70. In this embodiment, a CD protector 70 is fixed at the middle of a large-sized ground paper 70, and ground paper having the same thickness of the CD protector 10 is formed at the surrounding of the CD protector 10, whereby the surface of the protector 10 and CD 1 do not protrude from the surface of the ground paper 70. According to the eighth preferred embodiment, since the magazine 70 is composed so that no part of the CD protector protrudes from the remaining part of the CD protector 10, the magazine 70 and the CD 1 will not be damaged or impaired, and further the magazines will not be inclined when being piled in multi-layers for display at the point of sale.
As described above, according to the eighth preferred embodiment, since the CD protector 10 is 3.5mm thick or less, it is not bulky. Therefore, even though a CD 1 is inserted in a book or magazine, the book or magazine is free from any sense of incongruity as a usual book or magazine, and the book likeliness will not be lost.
In each of the abovementioned second to eighth preferred embodiments, since the ground paper 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, and 71 and flaps 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, 72 are made of paper, not only do they have an advantage of being thin and light, but they also have a warm feeling and userfriendliness, and the functionability thereof is much improved in handling, carrying, and storing. Furthermore, they have a good flexibility in designing and printing, whereby CD protectors according to these preferred embodiments and magazines or books in which the CD protector is inserted are differentiated from others on the point of sales, and they contribute to the sales promotion.
