Abstract
An input signal, applied to the input sockets E, is passed to a solenoid transducer head G. The transducer head is placed close to the magnetic head of a tape player/recorder 50 that the input signal is inductively coupled to the magnetic head. In this manner the output circuits of the tape player/recorder may be used to reproduce the input signal, for example in a PA system. As there is no direct electrical connection the adapter may be used underwater or in a hazardous environment. <IMAGE>
Description
iNGTEX Description
This is an accessory used to introduce a sound or other signal into an amplifier or magnetic receiver where no electrical connection is available.
The cost of hiring P.A. equipment for meetings, garden fetes and sing-along competitions is high. Many people already have sound systems but these lack a microphone socket. The device overcomes this problem by transmitting to the tape head of the tape player.
In adverse conditions such as underwater or in a gaseous atmosphere electrical connection can be dangerous or impossible. Two way intercom or data transmission can be achieved with the device(s) using custom made transmit and pick-up coils.
The invention is a unit to amplify and transmit sound, data or other signals through a magnetic solenoid to a receiving coil or head.
Claims (5)
- MAGTEXClaims 1. An amplifier and solenoid device to transmit an AC signal to a receiving coil.
- 2. A device as in claim 1 where the solenoid is attachable to a cassette tape player front flap.
- 3. A device as in claim 1 where the solenoid is attachable to a cassette tape casing.
- 4. A device as in claim 1 where the solenoid is attachable to a sound head of a video player.
- 5. A device which is shown herein on the drawing 1/1 with description attached.MAGTEX Drawing The attached drawing shows a casing containing a signal amplifier. The unit contains a battery power supply.A. Socket for additional transducer B. Transducer (solenoid) head parking place C. External power socket D. Power on indicator E. Signal input sockets F. Signal level control G. Transducer head5. A device as in claim 1 where the solenoid functions as a contactless AC signal connection plug.6. A device which is as described herein and is illustrated by the drawing 1/1.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. An electronics based device for use with magnetic medium reproducers intended to introduce an A.C. signal from a transducer external to the reproducer, and not connected electrically to it,in that the transducer head may be attached temporarily to the casing of the reproducer by adhesive pad, clip or 'velcro' allowing a sound amplified by the device and controlled with a level control to be heard at the output of the reproducer.2. A device as in claim one where the transducer head and amplifier are contained within the same casing and attachable to the reproducer.3. A device as in claim one or two where the body of the device contains circuitry for introducing special effects onto the A.C. signal.4. A device asin claims one, two or three where the casing is adapted to fasten to the users clothing as a personal accessory.
