Abstract
A demountable barrier system, e.g. for use around construction sites, comprises inter-connected panels supported either by hollow bases with upper slots for receiving the panels, the bases being ballasted with water in use, or by posts arranged in pre-formed holes in concrete blocks. The hollow bases can also be used for supporting road signs, e.g. (Fig. 4, not shown). Adjacent hollow bases can be inter-connected by flexible bases to facilitate the filling and emptying thereof. <IMAGE>
Description
HOARDING PANEL SYSTEM.
This invention relates to a demountable Hoarding Panel System to secure the perimeter of Construction Sites.
Hoarding panels can be seen extensively in both Inner cities and around Green field construction sites.
They generaly comprise as a softwood post with two lenths of softwood carcasing nailed at either end to form a frame. Exterior grade Plywood is then nailed to the frame to enclose the construction site.
On completion of the building works the softwood and plywood used as temporary hoarding, is usualy disposed of having deteriorated beyond practical commercial re-use.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1. Shows in perspective the hoarding panels situated within the hoarding base.
Figure 2. Illustrates the seperation between panels. The panels are secured by a spacer and coachbolts placed at the top and bottom of the Hoarding Panel.
Figure 3. Illustrates each elevation of the Hoarding Base and the situation of the filling cap and the flexible screw in hose when con-joined.
Figure 4. Shows the additional panel sizes and potential applications.
Figure 5. Illustrates how the Panels can be used on long term
Construction sites with the use of a sleeve sunk in concrete.
Once the concrete has dried the post can be placed within the hole. The Panels are then Secured with Coachbolts placed at the top and bottom of the Panels. At the end of the Construction period the panels are removed and the Post pulled freely from its hole.
Claims (5)
- w . w 1. A fully de-mountable hoarding panel system that is lightweight for the purpose of transporting and erecting on site.
- 2. Once the system has been erected. By filling the base with water via a filling cap placed at the top of the base. The water can flow freely to the full lenth of hoarding via a flexible hose situated at the bottom that can join each Hoarding base The additional weight provided by the water produces stability within the base and to the Hoarding Panel System.
- 3. It can for the purpose of re-locating either on site or to a new project reduce its weight by unscrewing the flexible hose found at the hoarding base releasing the water from either the desired panels or from the system as a whole.Amendments to the claims have been tiled as follows WHAT I CLAIM IS :1. A pre-fabricated industrial grade plastic, de-mountable hoarding unit which is removably postionable on a ground surface and which includes a ground engageable support comprising an industrial grade plastic ballast container. The ballast container has located at the top a removable screwing cap for the purpose of adding water to stabilise and add weight to the unit. Located at the rear elavation 75mm from the base at either end of the container are removable screw in plastic caps which with the assistance of a plastic flexible screw in hose allows the water to flow throughout the lenth of the hoarding. On the top of the water container an elongated "E" (without the middle part of the E ) recess can be located for the purpose of situating the industrial grade plastic pre-fabricated flush and vision panels.2. A industrial grade plastic pre-fabricated panel 2500 x 2500 x 15mm and 2500 x 1250 x 15mm both are either flush finnish or with vision panel. Both are shaped to slide into the recess located at the top of the water container 3. A hoarding including a plurity of hoarding units as claimed in the preceeding claims.
- 4. A hoarding as claimed in claims 1+2 wherein the hoarding units are spaced together to form the line of hoarding desired. Each units are connected with an industrial grade plastic prefabricated space bar. Coach bolts are fixed at the top and bottom joining the pre-fabricated hoarding units and space bars together.
- 5. A industrial grade plastic pre-fabricated de-mountable hoarding unit substantialy as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the original submitted drawings.
