Abstract

The holder for part works such as magazines is made in the form and appearance of a book. It is designed to incorporate only a specific amount of magazines. The magazines themselves are held within the Compiler by their own mass. Retrieval of one or all of the magazines from the Compiler is done by way of using the "thumb notch", a deliberate arc (A), cut away from the front edge of the side of the compiler. The device has the appearance of a bound book without defacing the collectable publications held within. The Compiler cannot be mistaken for just a box or a binder. The construction material is plastic and it does not incorporate any metal rails or rings to hold its contents. <IMAGE>

Description

MAGAZINE COMPILER DESCRIPTION This invention relates to the storage of magazines. At present the most common way of housing or binding magazines and/or their supplements is either a boxed or ring binding method. The Magazine Compiler is different from any conventional magazine storage unit due to its shape and simple design.
The Magazine Compiler is designed to be purpose built for specific publications, though its appearance and structure will remain as invented, its size may vary.
The dimensions of the Magazine Compiler are as follows: Material thickness - 1.5mm Width of spine - 35.Omm Height - 308.0mum Breadth - 236.Omm Arc (Thumb-notch) - Width - 30.0mum Length - 45.0mum

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS 1. The Magazine Compiler is made of two separate components, ie. the curved spine (B) and the body (C), refer to Fig. 2, joined together with adhesive, gives the two components its overall shape that of a book Fig. 1.
  2. 2. The Magazine Compilers spine (B), as claimed in 1 has a curved exterior but internally it has a straight-edge, which allows the contents to fit evenly, see Fig. 2.
  3. 3. The Magazine Compilers body (C), as claimed in 1 widens from the outer edge until it reaches the spine (B), allowing enough material for the spine to be attached as shown in Fig. 2.
  4. 4. The Magazine Compilers body has a deliberate arc (A) cut away from one side of the outer edge to enable easy removal of contents, see Fig. 1.
  5. 5. The Magazine Compilers overall size and length is determined by the size of publications it envelopes, the same also applies to the arc (A) as claimed in 4.
