Abstract

The dust catcher is an easily removed open-box type unit used as a means of catching the dust generated by the drilling action when drilling into vertical surfaces. The adhesive used on the back of the box is of the "stick on/peel off" type. The sides of the box are high enough to form a shield. <IMAGE>

Description

STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER THE INVENTION RELATES TO A STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER WITH D.I.Y. BEING AN EVER INCREASING PASTIME THE PRESENT INVENTION WAS MADE. THE MOST COMMONLY USED POWER TOOL IN MOST HOMES IS THE POWER DRILL AND THE PRESENT INVENTION AS BEEN DESIGNED TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DRILLING OPERATION.
WHEN IN USE THE DUST CATCHER WILL CATCH VIRTUALLY ALL DUST GENERATED BY DRILLS BEING USED IN VERTICAL SURFACES ( FIG 9 ).
FIGURE 1: SHOWS THE FRONT ELEVATION. (5/9) FIGURE 2: SHOWS THE END ELEVATION.( 5/9) FIGURE 3: SHOWS THE PLAN ELEVATION. (5/9) FIGURE 4: SHOWS A PERSPECTIVE VIEW. (6/9) FIGURE 5: SHOWS THE DRILL WINDOW. (6/9) FIGURE 6: VERTICAL SURFACE MARKING. (7/9) FIGURE 7: SHOWS HOW TO ALIGN THE UNIT. (7/9) FIGURE 8: SHOWS MAKING THE SEAL AROUND THE DRILL WINDOW. (8/9) FIGURE 9: SHOWS THE DRILLING OPERATION. (9/9) STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER THE DUST CATCHER IS A TYPE OF BOX THE SIDES OF WHICH ARE HIGH ENOUGH TO FORM A COVERING SHIELD ( FIG 1 ) HIGHER THAN THE DRILL CHUCK AS USED BY DRILL MANUFACTURERS. THE WIDTH OF THE DUST CATCHER AGAIN IS DEEP ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR THE DEPTH OF DRILL CHUCKS AS USED BY DRILL MANUFACTURERS ( FIG 2 ).
THE DUST CATCHER AS A SLIGHT TAPER TOWARDS THE BOTTOM ( FIG 1 ).
THE BACK OF THE BOX IS PLIABLE ENOUGH TO APPLY TO VIRTUALLY ANY SURFACE TEXTURE.
THE ADHESIVE USED ON THE BACK OF THE BOX IS THE "STICK ON PEEL OFF" TYPE.
THE WALL IS MARKED WITH THE POSITION ( FIG 6 ) OF THE HOLE(S) TO BE DRILLED. THE DRILL WINDOW ( FIG 5)IS PLACED CENTRALLY OVER THE MARKED POSITION ( FIG 7 ).
THUMB PRESSURE IS USED AROUND THE EDGE OF THE WINDOW TO FORM A SEAL. FURTHER GENERAL HAND PRESSURE IS THEN USED TO APPLY THE BACK OF THE BOX TO THE VERTICAL SURFACE ( FIG 8 ). THE HOLE(S) CAN NOW BE DRILLED ( FIG 9 ).
THE SAME BOX CAN BE USED FOR SEVERAL HOLES OR UNTIL THE ADHESIVE NO LONGER ADHERES.

Claims (1)

  1. STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER
CLAIMS 1/ THE STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER IS A TYPE OF BOX, THE SIDES OF WHICH ARE HIGHER THAN THE STANDARD DRILL CHUCK AS USED BY DRILL MANUFACTURERS.
2/ THE STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 AS A SIDE WIDTH, WHICH IS DEEP ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR THE DEPTH OF THE STANDARD DRILL CHUCKS AS USED BY DRILL MANUFACTURERS.
3/ THE STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 AND 2 WHEREIN THE BODY HAS A CUT AWAY SECTION TO THE FRONT PANEL TO ALLOW THE DRILL CHUCK TO MOVE FORWARD BEYOND THE FRONT PANEL LINE.
4/ THE STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIMS 1 TO 3 WHEREIN THE THE BACK PANEL AS A CUT AWAY SECTION TO GIVE ACCESS TO THE POSITION ON THE VERTICAL TO BE DRILLED.
5/ THE STICK ON PEEL OFF DUST CATCHER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 4 HAS AN ADHESIVE APPLIED TO THE BACK PANEL REAR SURFACE, WHICH ALLOWS RE-APPLICATION TO DIFFERING VERTICAL SURFACES.
