Description

BUILT-UP PARTITION WALL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a built-up partition wall which can be conveniently set up by connecting a plurality of triangular unit blocks together. The unit blocks have pipe passages for mounting electric or water pipings, vertical and transverse thorough holes for mounting reinfor@ing rods, and a peripheral mounting groove for the application of a bonding agent.
Various materials are known and in telos Ively used for the construction of partition walls. These materials include concrete, bricks, wood, plas@i etc. When a partition wall is mad of wood, @oises will be produced during the construction. Another drawback of wooden partition walls is that they may be moistened to deform or damaged easily by termites.
Furthermore, a wooden partition wall lets sound pass and cannot protect against heat. A plastic partition tall is more easy to install, however it cannot protect against fire and will deform and deteriorate quickly after installation. Alien a plastic partition will is heated, it will produce a toxic gas. A partition wal made from bricks and cement is tore durable in use.
However, a concrete or brick partition wall is heavy and complicated to construct. During the construction of a concrete or brick partition wall, pipe passages must be left for further mounting electric or water pipings.
Furthermore, a brick partition wall tends to crack within a short period after its installation.
Either of the aforesaid conventional partition walls need much labor to construct. When the partition walls are set up, they cannot be dismantled without damaging the whole structure. Furthermore, during the construction of a partition wall in a louse, room or office, the job-site must be cleaned, 1 . t the residents of the house or room or the staffs of the office must be moved away.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore an object of the present invention of the preselit invention to provide a built-up partition wall which can be conveniently quickly set up at the job-site. It is another object of the present invention to provide a built-up partition wall which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture. It is still another object of tulle present invention to provide a built-up partition wall which is strong against pressure. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a built-up partition wall which is fire proof. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a built-up partition wall which can quickly dissipate heat. It is still another object of the present invelltioll to provide a built-up partition wall which is lightweight.
According to the present invention, a built- up partition wall is made by connecting a plurality ol unit blocks together by a bondiny agent aiid a plurality of reinforeing rods. Each unit block consists of two cover layers respectively molded from mineral fibers and an intermediate layer molded from cement and foamed balls, having mounting grooves around the periphery for receiving tite bonding agent, two wave-like pipe passages for mounting electric or water pipings, two vertical through holes and a transverse through hole connected between the vertical through holes for receiving the reinforcing rods.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a unit bloc for a built-up partition wall according to the present invention; Fig. 2 is a cutaway ot the unlit block shown in Figure 1; Fig. 3 shows the installation procedure of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a plain view in section of built-up partition wall constructed according to the present invention; and Fig. 5 is a sectional view showing the connection between the supporting frames and tite ottilt blocks according to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring to the aitnexed drawings in detail, a built-up partition wall in accordance with the present invention consists of a plurality of supporting frames 3, a plurality of unit blocs 1, and a plurality of reinforcing rods 4.
Referring to Figures 1 atid 2, the unlit block 1 is made of triangular shape having two equal sides and a base, consisting of two opposite cover layers 2 aiid at intermediate layer 11 betweeti the cover layers 2. The cover layers 2 are molded from literal fibers, defining each a respective pipe passage 21. Toe pipe passage 21 may be variously shaped as desired. For example, it can be made of wave-like shape. The intermediate layer 11 is molded from a cement mixture containing foamed balls 12.Before the intermediate layer 11 is hardened, the cover layers 2 are covered over tlte two opposite sides of the intermediate layer 11. A mounting groove 10 is made on the intermediate layer 11 around the three sides of the unit block 1 . The unit block 1 further comprises two vertical through holes 101 made through the intermediate layer 11 and respectively exteiided from the base to the sides, and a transverse through hole 102 made through the sides and communicated between the vertical through holes 101.
Referring to Figure 3, the supporting frame 3 is an elongated, flat board having a rail 31 longittodinally disposed at one side it the middle. The rail 31 is made for fitting into the mounting groove 10 on the aforesaid unit block 1. The diameter of the reinforcing rod 4 is approximately equal to tile diameter of the vertical through holes 101 and the transverse through hole 102 of te unlit block 1.
The installation procedure of a built-up wall according to the present invention is outlined hereinafter with reference to Figures 3, 4, and 5.
Supporting frames 3 are fixedly fastetied to the floor and walls aroutid the area within wicli the partition wall is to be set up, then unit blocks 1 are respectively fastened to the supporting frames 3 by engaging the rails 31 of thee supporting frames 3 into the mounting grooves 10 of the unit blocks. 1. The unit blocks 1 which are not directly connected to the supporting frames 3 are connected one another by a bonding agent 5 which is filled into the mounting grooves 10. Furthermore, reinforeing rods 4 are inserted through the vertical through holes 101 or transverse through holes 102 to secure the connection.
When tie unit blocks 1 are connected into a wall, tloe pipe passages 21 are respectively connected itt series for mounting electric or water pipings inside the partition wall. Because tloe unit blocks 1 are oL isosceles triatigles, pressure can be equally distributed to the supporting frames 3. Because of the arrangement of the wave-like pipe passages 21 on each unit block 1, the unit block 1 provides a satisfactory sound-proof effect. The pipe passages 21 can also quickly deliver heat. Because the partition wall is built-up by setting up a plurality of pre-fabricated unit blocks 1 into shape, the installatioit of the partition wall does not raise a dust or waste any materials. Furthermore, the unit blocks 1 can be repeatedly used.
while only one embodiment of the present invention has been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications and cages could be made without departing from ttie spirit atod scope of the invention.
