Abstract
A method for improved matrix acidizing in a subterranean formation comprises: a) injecting a pad of viscous fluid via a perforated wellbore (10) into at least one high permeability interval or zone (16) of the formation at a rate sufficient to cause a fracture therein to remain open: and b) injecting thereafter a liquid acid into the formation at a rate sufficient to enter said interval (16) equally as the pad restrains the flow of acid in said interval or zone (16). <IMAGE>
