Abstract

A Top-tee, has a base 1 which supports the stern and cup 2. Slots or marks on the base 1 allow correct postion and alignment of the golf ball during address. Indentation 3 allows the correct positioning of the ball for marking purposes e.g. when on the putting green. <IMAGE>

Description

TOP - TEE (GOLF TEE) This invention relates to a Golf Tee.
Golf Tees are well known devices which alow a golfball to be positioned above the ground prior to hitting the ball from a tee position or practice area.
When the natural ground is hard or when on artificial surfaces it is often very difficult to establish a conventional tee in the ground.
An essential part of the golfers swing is to achieve correct alignment of ball and body at address, conventional tees do not facilitate this requirement.
According to the present invention there is a slotted or marked flat base which supports a vertical stem and cup. The heights and size of the base varies to accomodate the different types of teeing conditions.
The flat base allows the teeing up of the ball on any ground conditions and the shape and markings on the base allow correct alignment of the ball in the stance. The device can also be used as a ball marker and alignment aid.
A specific embodiment of the invention is shown on drawing TT/O1.

Claims (4)

1) A Top-tee comprises a base which supports a vertical stem and cup which supports a golf ball during the practice of game or golf.
2. A Top-tee as claimed in claim 1 which has a perforated or marked base which facilitates the correct alignment of the golf ball in the stance of the golfer.
3. A Top-Tee as claimed in claim 1 which allows the golf ball to be Tee'd up on any type of ground or artificial surface.
4. A Top-tee as claimed in claim 1 wherein the device can be used as a golf ball marker, and ensures the correct position and replacement of the ball.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1) A golf tee which comprises a flat base having a vertical stem extending from it, the stem being formed with a cup to support a golf ball, and the base being provided with a pair of apertures or marks to facilitate the correct alignment of the golf ball in the stance of the golfer, said apertures or marks being positioned symmetrically with respect to said stem and each extending away from the other generally in an arc which is centred on said stem.
2) A golf tee as claimed in claim 1, in which said flat base is formed with an indentation at its periphery and at a position symmetrically disposed between said apertures or marks.
3) A golf tee substantially as herein described with reference to and as illustrated in Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings.
