Abstract

These shoes or trainers contain precisely located magnets. The magnetic field produced by each magnet acts on the reflex zone located in the sole of the human foot. This field is sufficient to stimulate the reflex zone and thus assist to maintain general health and fitness. To maintain stability and for ease of use, the magnets are actually built-in to the sole of the shoe or trainer as opposed to being located in an insole or slip-in shoe support. <IMAGE>

Description

TRAINERS AND SHOES WITH BUILT-IN MAGNETS.
This invention relates to shoes and trainers with magnets built in to the soles of the shoes.
Many trainers and shoes are currently available on the open market. Although footwear is an essential item to every person, very few shoes consider the actual health requirements of the wearer, and none include the installation of magnets in the soles. Figs 1 & 2 The magnets are strategically placed to correspond with certain reflex zones as they occur on the sole of the human foot. Fig 3.
These zones were isolated by the Chinese art of reflexology several thousand years ago. With alternative medicine becoming more accepted, the therapeutic attributes of the use of magnets has been well documented by Western science and medicine in recent years.
The use of magnets on pressure points can be cross referenced to the use of needles in acupuncture. The magnetic field generated by the magnet affects a general area surrounding it (approx 2tt Diameter using a magnet of 1.21 Tesla strength as used in these shoes). This stimulates the reflex zone providing similar benefits to those ascribed to acupuncture but without the use of needles.
The influence of a magnetic field directly affects the blood circulation and nervous system. The iron content in the blood (haemoglobin) is attracted to the magnet causing the red blood cells to spin around and point in one direction.
This accelerates the circulation assisting the flow of oxygen, hormones and nutrients. It also helps to clear the vessels of toxins and waste products (cholesterol etc).

Claims (4)

CLAIMS.
1. A shoe or trainer that has magnets at strategic reflex zone positions is capable of stimulating this zone and thus generating the therapeutic effects of reflexology.
2. That the well-being of an individual is influencable via therapy to his/her feet and that a shoe or trainer with magnets built-in to the sole provides such therapy.
3. That by proven scientific research there are no adverse reactions or harmful biological changes caused by the use of magnets on the human body.
4. That the idea would cover all types of footwear, not just trainers. This would therefore include shoes for golf, walking, skiing, sandals and all types of medicinal or osteo use.
