Abstract

A disposable ashtray for use on beaches, designed to operate with sand for the purpose of cigarette butt disposal is formed from a blank having apertures in bottom flaps through which the sand may be released prior to disposal of the ashtray. <IMAGE>

Description

DISCRIPITIZTE OF THE CIGBIN AS DESIGNED BY The cigbin is a carton for the sole purpose of being used a a disposable ashtray, it is manufactured of E flute corrugated board which is recyclable. It is designed for specific use on beaches, sand being a major factor in its design, the cigbin will be supplied flat packed, the base of the carton being preglued. By simply pressing the two edges the cigbin will form into its working state, a carton 80 x 80 x 50 with a lid.
Two or three handfuls of sand are dropped into the cigbin thereby providing an ashtray for the length of stay on the beach.
The sand acting as a natural extinguisher for the lighted cigarette, when the cigbin is full the lid is closed the bin lifted and the sand then pours through the holes in the base leaving the litter of the cigarettes in the cigbin and the sand in its clean original state, the cigbin is then thrown away.
It is intended to use the cigbin as an advertising medium for cigarette companies and allied trades and also in the tourist industry to promote cleanliness on beaches and to the environment in general.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A corrugated board box, glued at three points for ease of assembly. Supplied flat packed ready to form into a three dimensional box 80 x 80 x 50 with a lid to keep the litter in.
  2. 2. The sand will transfer back to its origin after use through the preformed holes in the base of the box.
  3. 3. A disposable ashtray as in claim one manufactured of recyclable materials.
