Abstract

The device comprises an alarm unit 1 including a battery, reed switch, micro electronics and audible sounder together with a separate mounted door magnet 4. When attached to the fridge/freezer main body and door, if the door remains open for 10 seconds or longer the audible sounder will activate and only turn off when the fridge/freezer door magnet closes properly. <IMAGE>

Description

FRIDGE/FREEZER AUDIBLE ALARM UNIT This invention relates to a fridge/freezer audible alarm unit.
In almost all homes nowadays you will find fridges and freezers whether they are in the kitchen or out in the garage, we all make good use of them that is why with the audible fridge/freezer alarm unit we can make sure the door remains closed, in order to stop the goods inside being ruined.
The fridge/freezer audible alarm unit can easily be fitted to any type of fridge/freezer and without the use of mains power.
A detailed instruction of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 and 2 show both front and side view of the unit.
Figure 3 shows the arrangement for attaching the unit to the fridge/freezer.
Figure 4 shows both the unit and magnet attached to the fridge/freezer.
Figure 5 shows internal view of the unit.
With reference to the drawings, Figure 1 and 2 show unit 1 with audible cover 2 and sticky back pad (velcro etc.) 3.
Figure 3 shows unit 1 spacer 5 and magnet 4 for internal reed switch within unit 1.
Figure 4 shows unit 1 and magnet 4 attached and in position on main fridge/freezer body 6 and fridge/freezer door 7.
Figure 5 shows unit 1 with internal P.C. Board 11, Microelectronics 10, Sounder 2, Battery compartment 9, and Reed switch 8.

Claims (1)

  1. A fully enclosed audible unit to) provide sound when door remains open.
    A 'simple to fit' unit that will adapt to fit any fridge or freezer.
    A suitable pocket sized unit that requires no mains (240v) power supply.
    Ideal for the use in the garage, shed or home.
